That was a nasty chop from Mexico 23 there, if this ref had any control of this game he'd probably be done (and the Saudi's would have multiple yellows for yelling directly at the refs)

Yeah it was a hammer drop by dirty Mexican. I thought the Saudi player's reaction was theatrics before the slo -mo.

Saudi concacafing aside, this match has been much more entertaining and more technical soccer than the undercard earlier.

Saudi needs to dig deep and find an equalizer, but I'm afraid more ambition and more runners in attack will cost them conceding a second before allowing them to equalize.

I'm not able to watch this match, but Canada was able to draw 3 red cards out of El Salvador in the first half last week and they seem to draw a lot of penalties. Jesse Marsch has a good plan for concacafing concacaf teams.

Twice the Guatemalans have kicked the ball at the Canadians after the play, once getting him near the head. And the ref admonished Canada for complaining about it. Pinto had about 4 yellow cars worthy actions and hasn't gotten one yet. As far as the flopping, Guatemala spent the whole first half rolling around the field, once they needed a goal it magically stopped. Now it's Canada time wasting.
The penalty was questionable and the ref never even looked at it. The second yellow for red was fine, the first yellow after everything Guat had gotten away with was the issue.

Just a really disappointing game for the tournament, but it's concacaf.
