Finally here now. Goal Aggies 3-1

Noble beat the defender and had a 1:1 with the goalie heading right down the middle. Instead of taking the shot herself, she passed it to her left and Buchanan tapped it in undefended. Very nice.

Thanks!

I really dig unselfish plays like that - team comes first !!

Jernigan is taken down in the box. She takes the PK herself and puts it in the back of the net.

4-1 Ags
26 minutes to play.

I think she was the only returning player to score in the last match!

Thanks for posting the video of the goal, I appreciate it !!

We have been successful at set pieces off and on over the years. I hope this year we are ON !!

Last year the transfers did not see a lot of action in the first half or more of the season. Transfers that were brought in specifically to 'finish chances' got little playing time. This year is the opposite, at least during these exhibition matches. I wonder if it will stay the same now that 'real' matches start next Thursday.

We'll see !!

A very unselfish pass from Noble for that goal. She had missed a couple of 1v1's with the goalie earlier, so a great play by her.

Taylor J has drawn 3 pk's in the 2 games. She seems focused and hungrier than ever! If that continue, it is a great sign for the Aggies!

Good results for the 2 exhibition games. This team shows they can take care of business against the lesser teams. They probably should have mixed in a least one team that would have challenged them before going into the season. The opening game against Baylor should give us a better idea of the team's strengths and weaknesses.

It should be a good indicator because I'm sure we're at a similar level. Baylor was picked 10th in the Big 12 preseason poll and only had 1 selection of 27 on the pre season watch list. They weren't a tourney team last season either. They beat us 1-0 at their place. Hopefully we can get some revenge.

I had no clue we have a couple of legacies, Goodwin and Rupe, on the team with some serious athletic genes!

Not certain, but I think that happened last season after the Brazil v Mexico soccer game that was played at Kyle. They couldn't keep that grass at Kyle, so it was repurposed at the old softball field.

That is correct. Trying to manage the practice wear and tear that happens in front of the goals for sure. Now if we could just get some new led lights at downward angles so it doesn't feel like blitzkreig lights to the spectators and long shadows on the field. But hey, progress!

Two press releases from yesterday - the latest 'get to know' and an announcement for the first Aggie Soccer Hour of the season (tonight).

https://12thman.com/news/2025/8/12/AggieSoccerHourisBack

"The first episode is accompanied by a meet-and-greet. Aggie fans have an opportunity to meet the 2025 edition of Texas A&M soccer. Autograph cards will be available as the entire squad will be on hand. Texas A&M soccer giveaways for fans will be available while supplies last."

"Wednesday's episode features numerous guests, including A&M standouts Eloise Descheneaux, Leah Diaz and Mia Scranton. Assistant coaches Tim Strader and Seth Taylor also join the broadcast."

I will watch to see and hear Tim and Seth. Seth has a recent interview on the TexAgs soccer page that I liked. Have never heard Tim. In the 'get to know' with Mia she obviously really likes playing for the guy. Great to have that chemistry between players and coaches.

Pretty much what was expected or even a little higher. Thankfully there's 3 teams ranked lower on our schedule. But our conference play starts with a gauntlet. Last year the SEC had 10 teams make it to the tourney. According to Chris Henderson this will be a down year fkr the SEC.

Baylor was picked 10th in the Big 12 preseason poll and they have the 9th overall returning production. Should be an evenly matched conference game. The big 12 has some solid soccer schools but drops significantly to

I usually have some idea how good we will be each year. I have no idea this year. Too many new faces and I haven't been following too closely. We had some nice play in the 2 exhibition games. Playing as a team will be critical. Should find out a lot Thursday night.

10x the media push this year than previous years- - def his last dance - nothing short of a Natty would save him

Figured people would flame me, but it's kinda funny how these exhibitions got pre game and post game press conferences, pre game write ups, post game recaps, radio interviews, highlights, score updates. Some tu buddies of mine were making fun of how we treated an exhibition against Rice and UT Rio Grande Valley like it was the college cup. Years prior the team wouldn't even post there was a scrimmage being played lol. I understand the need to do it now and the need to hype up a team with no experience and low expectations, but other teams and fans are laughing and poking fun at it.

Half of the conference games last year G would skip the media who attended the matches and wouldn't do a post game presser but you win an exhibition game against one of the worst Southland teams and he's there

Coaches emphasized that they think this year's team is "much more fit" than last year's and "won't run out of gas" like last year. They said they plan to substitute liberally and want every player to go full-gas for 25-30 minutes and then will be subbed out.

Sounds like the A&M Sports Information folks covering soccer this season are stepping up. Do we have someone new covering the team? If you are going to have that role, take advantage of it and do it well!

Comments on several posts from above.

Yesterday, someone finally said what I have thought a few times over the past few months - what if our Aggies have a great season? What if they finish at or close to the top of the SEC and advance far into the NCAA tournament? Will it save G's job? Not saying it will happen but what if it does? As many have mentioned over time they might not like G but they DO want our Aggies to succeed and WILL support them. I am all in on this 100% !!

I also noticed the coverage has been a lot more this year. A lot of it has been TexAgs stuff but also A&M stuff. I DID check - the same A&M sports guy is putting out press releases this year as previous years:

"Thomas Dick, Texas A&M Athletics Communications"

Maybe G has directed it to save his job, maybe not. Personally, I do not care and glad they ARE highlighting the team more! Heck, I wish all the 'minor sports' would do it !! Softball never talks about their Fall games. Do not even release the scores much less any stats. I was surprised last year when there was an article on the game vs tu here on TexAgs. I e-mailed them and thanked them, asking for more coverage of the Fall games. But did not happen.

SOOOO, regardless of the reason, I dig all the interviews and press releases - should have been doing it for years !!!

Latest press releases here (Match preview includes link to first Aggie Soccer Hour of the year. Previous years the video would be posted on the Aggie youtube page a day or so later but have not seen it it yet.):
