Coach G's final season starts with a bang!

Coach G said the big difference between last year and this year was that this team was in much better shape… clearly just coach talk as Baylor was in far better shape than we were tonight. He also claims we have more depth than last year so we can play quicker and more aggressively. Again it's only match 1 but body language was awful most of the second half. Becoming an Aggie staple and I think Baylor knew as they were reserved and focused more defensively in the first half… this was a Baylor team who was picked 10th in an awful soccer conference and didn't even make the tourney last year while only returning 5 starters

Well, it seems the common denominator hasn't changed. Hopefully the team can overcome the lame duck leadership.

Really like the starting 11. The Buchanan girl is a really good player. But they have absolutely no depth and are silly to try to press teams in the Texas heat knowing that. Looked great early then slowly faded

Has nothing to do with being in great shape. You can't chase for 90 minutes and expect to not have a breakdown at some point

Yeah G mentioned in the preseason we had lots of depth and wanted the girls to go all out since they would be subbing a lot, but didn't really see that. You could see the body language in the 60th minute or so and Baylor took control.

We played 10 minutes of good soccer then 80 minutes of Aggie soccer. We're lucky we didn't lose 3-1p BU owned us for most of the match

Maybe dont believe coach speak from a pre season interview

Did Texas really lose to the Northwestern St from Natchitoches, Louisiana tonight? I was going to look for our final game stats and almost scanned by it but finally did a double take.

Hoang, Lavender and Wilson were not in uniform. In pregame warmups Wilson tripped or fell over the fence in front of the south stands and came up holding her left wrist. Later it looked like she had an air cast on her arm and had her left arm in a sling.

Definitely not an encouraging performance tonight. Started off looking strong and then quickly faded as the chasing tactics resulted in a tired squad late in the match. Baylor should have won without a couple of unlucky bounces on shots. We have a depth problem and I don't see a ton of talent on the field. Unless there are some players that come back from injury or something we don't know about right now, this does indeed look like G's final season at A&M.

zero midfield this year, Baylor clearly has a better coach and style and should have won this game if not for the crossbar

the announcer saying we recruited size to replace our smaller players from last year is laughable -

The system so far has been nothing like last year. Whether that's good or bad remains to be seen
