Watching with no sound. Is the explanation that the German player wins the ball first before the boot hits the head? There was clearly more than enough contact for a foul, so I'm not sure what else the explanation could be...

That can't be an explanation. Having you foot at head height is dangerous play so any contact is a foul.

It's complicated. He played the ball first and PIADM just barely registers at the professional level.
I've got a foul. Ball or not you just cannot let a player kick another in the head.

So that you make a post about them
And I'm barely paying attention, but didn't the ball go out of play after that incident and then they scored on the throw-in? If so, I think the stoppage made it unreviewable, right?tysker said:Mathguy64 said:AustinScubaAg said:Vessel said:

Based on your experience, it's hard to blame the ref there if their view was blocked, right?
They would expect VAR to pick up the contact if there is some contact. Or maybe not?

Agreed but when you are sprinting it doesn't take a hard foul to trip you eitherMathguy64 said:
I'm going to call that what it was. A make up call for the first one. It's the tiniest of touches.
