How in the world does Rutgers have two players go in the top 5 picks in the draft (Dylan Harper & Ace Bailey) and only manage a 15-17 record last year (8-12 in B1G)?
Everyone else on the team was super trash and so is their coach. Ace Bailey is a bad shot taker with low BBIQ. Teams essentially played 5 on 2.

If I'm looking at the draft transactions correctly, the first 9 picks were all done by teams picking in their slot with no transactions involved (yet), either to get the pick originally, or dealing the pick.

Originally, the first 12 picks were all teams using their earned/assigned draft spot, but on draft night #10 and #11 were dealt (to Rockets and Grizzlies). At #12, the Bulls used their actual draft pick.

From #13 to #59, there were 47 picks, guess how many of those 47 were not transaction related, so it was the team drafted using their own draft pick with no trade involved to acquire that pick, nor was the pick then dealt.

If I'm reading ESPN correctly, only these picks involved no transactions:

#28 - Hugo Gonzalez - Celtics
#33 - Sion James - Hornets
#35 - Johni Bromme - Sixers
#54 - Taelon Peter - Pacers
#58 - Sialou Niang - Cleveland
(Knicks had no 2nd round pick due to Brunson tampering)

So only 5 of the 47 or 48 picks went to the team that was actually scheduled to draft there, 42 of the 47 involved a transaction.

It seems like Beasley may have some lawsuit ammo. All of the headlines make it seem like he was either gambling or involved in a gambling ring in rigging his over/under props. But then when you read the article, none of it makes sense at all. if you are fixing something, why do rebounds? And the limits are so small on that, I can't imagine anyone trying to fix it. And more importantly, he crushed the over on the rebounds that game (by 4 rebounds) and all the unusual bets lost.

They are killing his name and his future earnings for something that seems like nothing.

Good luck suing the FBI/DOJ for investigating you.

Lol yea. I meant defamation type claims. If the headlines simply state he's being investigated, then he definitely would not have a claim. I thought that there were headlines out there that didn't simply point out that he was under investigation. But from quick Google, it looks like most headlines mention the investigation.

So he likely won't have any claims. But I feel awful for him if he really was not involved with anything. Because most people and teams immediately think the player is guilting if they are under any type of gambling investigation. But the facts in this one make no sense at all. Could cost him a ton of money.

Grizzlies had let Shams in so he could tee off:

Related: The Grizzlies will be going after minimum wage guys that didn't catch on in LA, Boston, Miami, or about 26 other teams.

They had a 6 point lead with less than a minute and went on to lose in double OT. Just awful to make that kind of a mental error in that situation.

WHAT?! They're gonna be paying Lillard $20+m/yr for the next 5 years NOT to play

That's cap sheet malpractice

He's 35. How well do you think he comes back from the torn Achilles?

The malpractice was trading Jrue, Grayson and 3 first for him at his age.

The Achilles injury was bad luck but you can't compound 1 bad decision with another. Stretch waiving $113m contract....i mean the bucks are cooked. That's 15% of your cap space lit on fire for the next half decade. He'd have been an expiring contract next year, someone would take his money.

I think they're trying to do everything they can to keep Giannis. Must be some smoke to the rumors of him wanting out, so they're trying to build a contender in the wide open east and needed cap space to add a guy like Turner.

Clearly. But this is such a short sighted move. If the options are 'stretch Dame/keep Giannis' or 'trade giannis' - it's a tough decision but the rational thing to do is trade Giannis. They just committed themselves to $23m/yr of nothing for what? Myles Turner? A 5th seed in the East at best?

This is a move a GM makes who knows they don't have job security. It's so so so bad.

I think this is also part of the fallout from the injuries this year in the East.

I don't think the Pacers let Turner walk if Haliburton was returning.
Maybe the Bucks would have done this for another free agent, but they want to still go after the Eastern Conference

I don't disagree with you, but not everyone is willing to be Nico Harrison and trade the face of the franchise in their prime.

The difference is Luka never threatened to leave. Nico made the dumb choice of shipping out a 26 yr old who never wanted to go.

Either way, it seems like Giannis DID NOT threaten to leave in order to waive Dame so this makes even less sense.
