Completely baffling.

Caissie shouldn't need rest, he's been with the club for what, a week? If Shaw needed a rest, have him sit tomorrow in the road game against the Angels.

Is it strange that he sat Shaw both Thursday and Saturday?

Speaking of Shaw, he should be a strong candidate for a Gold Glove....he has been outstanding with the leather

Shaw has been crazy impressive with the glove. If it weren't for Ke'Bryan Hayes, he would be in the GG conversation. Maybe he can at least make it as a finalist and get that recognition. Add in the fact he is a plus runner and showing signs with the bat in the 2nd half, similar to PCA last year, MAYBE the Cubs finally have a long term solution at 3B.

On another note, would love to see Caissie get two starts against the RHP in the Giants series and send one into McCovey Cove.

The handling of Schwarber's exit was just completely boneheaded. I'm still mad.

I would not be opposed to them passing on Tucker's price tag this offseason and perhaps bringing him back and sticking Seiya out back in RF.

yeah, it might not make sense especially if cassie can take it over. Rather get a top end starter

Yeah that's definitely fair. I think think both Seiya and Happ are FA after next season? So 2027 is when I'd want to ensure Caissie could step in at 100% and go. But obviously next season is an option and would be great if he was able.
