Cliff Clavin's buffalo theory. I'm feeling very smart right now...
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Shout out to texasaggie2015 for all of the scoop or as the kids say for "spillin the tea" and keeping us patient yet excited.
And am I the only one that refers to him to my other friends as "I've got a friend that's well connected inside" instead of a random texags poster?!
People ask way less questions if I just refer to TexAgs as "a guy I know"

How could they not at this point? They lost 40% of their roster in a day.

Chandler Rome suggested the team could actually consider selling high on Pena this offseason to rebuild the farm. This deadline was so exciting but also intriguing to think about what the front office will do this offseason to continue to build for now and the future.
Just please don't sign any players with a qualifying offer

Will Carlos be in a lineup tonight? I don't know the logistics behind travel when you get traded the day before.
FYI - in 2025, offensively, Carlos Correa is a pretty close comp to Cam Smith. Both have 337 AB and ...

Smith: .258 BA, .715 OPS, 99 OPS+, 7 HR, 39 RBI

These days, it's always airplane travel. They don't do trains anymore.

I obviously don't understand baseball contracts, and I haven't read through most of the posts so maybe this has already been discussed - but why were the Astros able to get Correa plus cash for a minor league player?

This is still my favorite Correa moment. Biased because I was there but it was the first pitch of the inning, I had gone down to the bathroom and just happened to sit back down as he hit it. That game was so massive after losing game 1 of that series so badly.
Carlos Correa in 2025:

Incredible. How does his contract now compare to what he wanted when he left (and we didn't re-sign him)?

Astros Bingo Update 8-1-25
Spreadsheet Link
Only 3 games in the Majors last night, so a brief update. Although I highly advised clicking the Reds-Braves highlights after they each scored 8 runs in the same inning. Montero has been so bad for Atlanta lately that he didn't pitch in a 12-11 game.
Carlos Correa's last game at Fenway with the Astros? Game 5 of the 2021 ALCS won by the good guys 9-1. Only Altuve is left (and healthy) from that lineup, along with Framber. And next weekend it's Astros at Yankees. That should be magnificent and oh, so triggering for their fans when he runs back out there.
Only real Bingo news is that Arlington lost, meaning it now has to go 30-22 while the Astros go 25-28 to get to 87-75.
Cal Raleigh hit his 42nd HR, on pace for 62. He's up 4 homers over second-place Ohtani.
The new Bingo Standings with 2-ish months to go are below. In a perfect world, Marvin and I would finish tied for first and Venmo each other $50. When we get to September, I'll put together a mini-playoff format Bingo Bonus game for the whole playoffs, not just the Stros.
Our squares most likely to activate in August:
Hader 35+ save (at 28)
George Springer 20+ HR (at 18)
Mike Trout 100+ games (at 82)
Four people looked like they were on easy street picking Judge 55+ HR but not so much anymore as he is on the DL.
In the next couple of weeks, going to be exxxing out Yordan's RBI and HR totals. I'd like to think he can come back and hit 32 HR and drive in 72 RBI in two months, but probably not

My favorite is the walkoff double vs the Yanks in Game 2 of the ALCS that score Altuve - 2 incredible young players, huge gamble sending Altuve, Judge having no idea Altuve was going to try and score so he throws it to second, Verlander pitched the whole game, and it started Gary Sanchez's campaign for ALCS MVP when he somehow dropped the ball. if you're ever bored, type "Gary Sanchez Astros" into Google and the vitriol about him from NY fans about that play is everywhere.
