Just a reminder we were told we didn't have the prospects to make any moves yet we pulled Correa, Sanchez, and Urias and only had to part with ONE of our top 30 prospects (Jaworsky #13) plus Gusto at likely the highest trade value he'll ever have in his career.

My favorite is the walkoff double vs the Yanks in Game 2 of the ALCS that score Altuve - 2 incredible young players, huge gamble sending Altuve, Judge having no idea Altuve was going to try and score so he throws it to second, Verlander pitched the whole game, and it started Gary Sanchez's campaign for ALCS MVP when he somehow dropped the ball. if you're ever bored, type "Gary Sanchez Astros" into Google and the vitriol about him from NY fans about that play is everywhere.

This is mine as well, but mostly because I was there with my kid. JV and Sev both pitched pretty well. CC had the walkoff but also the solo shot earlier in the 4th. Just an amazing to experience in person.

Honest question. Why? He was the worst starting 2B in the league last year defensively. Why is there the clamoring to move him back there? Yeah he is no great shakes at LF either, but I would prefer to see Dubon at 2B and Altuve LF/DH at least until Yordan gets back. Have Sanchez in LF against RHP and let Altuve play LF against LHP.

Agreed, while Altuve is bad in LF, he is now a terrible defensive 2B and has far less defensive impact on the game in LF versus 2B, so Astros are better off with bad Altuve LF versus terrible Altuve 2B.

Is Altuve that bad in LF?

I ask because I can't recall him making that many blunders that really costs us.

I'm probably way off but it seems like he isn't a plus but he's also not a big liability. Kinda just hidden there which maybe is best.

It would be awesome if he and Altuve got into a homerun chase this postseason for that number 1 all time spot. Although Altuve is way in front

His combination of poor arm, poor range, and sometimes bad reaction has definitely cost a number of extra bases.

That said I like the strategy of sticking him there when we've got a ground ball pitcher on the mound, and at 2B when we don't.

Based on this year's results the following should not or very rarely play against the wrong platoon

• Sanchez vs LHP - .182 / .233 - comically bad
• Walker vs LHP - .259 / .243 - I am shocked how bad this is
• Urias vs RHP - .289 / .298 - he's really only playing to help on D or give someone a rest day.
• Smith vs RHP - .295 / .303 - I don't want to stunt development, but maybe come postseason, he's a permanent platoon with Sanchez.

good analysis - I just don't think we see much, if any, of Yordan this season.

Alutve is 26 out of 34 LFs who are qualified in OAA. He's sandwiched between Jarren Duran and Andrew Benintendi. He's fine moving in and out, but he's cost us a few outs moving left and right to balls.

2019 we beat the Rays in the ALDS. 2020 the Rays make the WS.
