What is the purpose of Paredes not getting the surgery right now? Are they thinking he'll be back for the postseason?

I think Farmer already provided the answer. We can't force him to go under the knife and as long as he has a physician that says he can heal without surgery this is where we are.

I agree he should just rip the bandaid off and get the surgery to be ready for next year but he's a gamer and has only played in 6 playoff games his entire career.

Interesting note, dude has raked in limited action in the post-season:
Quote:

Isaac Paredes has played in 6 playoff games in his career. He participated in two playoff series, one in 2022 and another in 2023. In these games, he has a batting average of .455 with 5 hits, according to StatMuse. In 2023, he had a batting average of .375 with 3 hits in 2 games.

I mean I get it, but man we've been down this road before. Just hope that he's fully ready for 2026 and doesn't **** that up trying to come back to soon.

16.25M per year seems like a great deal for the Sox for Anthony. I know anything can happen, but that is alot of control at a reasonable cost for a guy that has been impressive.

That's not exactly how this works.

He's under to control for 6 years. His pay for those years would look something like 1 M, 1 M, 1 M, 10 M, 16 M. 21 M. He's basically under contract for 5/60 M. This would be more like locking him up for a 3/80 M during his prime.

I think we need to see what the full season looks like before we offer Cam 100 million+.

This mindset means you'll never get a deal done. Either you believe in him and get a deal or you wait to confirm he's good and he's out of your price range.

Terrible interviewer but cool moment for her.

Marlins reporter in disbelief that anyone would go to another city for a baseball game.

Was like having Chris Farley do the interview.

Hunter Brown
Kyle Tucker
Carlos Correa
George Springer

We got lucky and got Bregman extended when we did. But he's the exception.

We have him for 5 more years, so I'm willing to wait if it means not making a $100 million mistake. His OPS+ is down to 95, and his OPS is closing in on Walker.

Yeah, there has to be an aggressive gamble somewhere to retain talent. If you won't bet on a players 30s with a long term xontract, then you have to bet on their 20s before they are fully proven.

Otherwise, the ONLY players you will ever be able to retain long-term are the rare Altuve types who don't look to maximize their payout.

If he's part of the future, lock him up.

I have seen enough of Cam to know he is going to be an outstanding player.

The bad we have seen reflects his rush to the majors and hitting the wall. He is a five-tool player who has the hit tool confirmed at the major league level, which is usually the part you are left guessing on with elite toolsy prospects.

With at-bats and maturation, the HR power will take off. I think he is lock 25-25 or 30-30 type future player.

Bet on it NOW.

The biggest thing for me with Cam is his durability. He's got the tools and athleticism; that much is evident. Crane needs to pivot at some point and find another player to lock up beyond what he's offered contract-wise in the past i.e. someone for Altuve to pass the baton to when he's ready to hang em up.

Supposedly judge is coming back for them today. He's gonna mess up his elbow even further, or he's gonna be incredibly ineffective

I saw this one coming. They can't afford to send a pen arm down. Not after last night using 4 and Spencer just coming back. If he only goes 4 IP they need every arm they have down there.

My guess is he'll be back next week for a spot start? Since he won't be able to pitch for a few days then it could make sense but given how he pitched I'd like to see him back

No Pena.... But the opening pitcher is Junk

How long do you want to ignore this user?
If they keep too many guys with on the roster as these rehabbing starters come back, we are going to have a clogged up pitching roster that is full of pent up starters who need more innings than the occasional 1-2 inning outing they might get in relief. Can't have the roster full of Blubaughs needing the release of pitching more innings more regularly.

Oh boy. In coming no hitter, followed by the geniuses on social media making countless jokes about the Astros not hitting Junk since they got rid of the trash cans.

Houston you have a problem, LOL

once you win the series...apply the brakes for the finale

Cant come back unless there is an injury. He's gotta be down for at least 15 days.

they need to think about the future and shut him down for the year if 44 really is coming back healthy

theres really no spot for him. And if you work him in it doesnt make us much better than what we can field with Yordan.

It just doesnt feel worth it right now. Do the surgery or full rehab and get ready for next year.

Did you even read that before you hit "post"? This is the 2025 Astros we are talking about here. It will be a miracle if there is NOT an injury before next week...

I think it has more to do with Thursday being an off day. Joe likes to get guys off their feet for 48 hours.
