Diaz has been awful behind the plate. He IS lazy back there. I can see where Framber is pissed, but the not backing up throws is equally as bad. If that team meeting didn't air out some obvious issues, then it was worthless.

So who is responsible for getting these lunkheads on the same page and lighting a fire under their posteriors?

Remember, coaches do very little at this level.

Remember when this was the knock on Diaz and then suddenly he got interested in improving his defense when he was trying to secure a roster spot? Seems like he got his spot and has reverted to his regularly scheduled laziness.

Yordan will play one more game in CC and then join the team in Baltimore assuming all goes as planned.

I think Diaz has a hard time picking up the ball from Framber. Or he's lazy. He had another wild pitch yesterday where he didn't even get off his knee and just reached for a ball. When that ball was just out of reach. Very similar to one his last start in which I got in an argument with a few posters here over.
One of the wild pitches was squarely on Framber. Ball bounced in the batters box.

Clubhouse is fine. Guys are down bad and frustration is spilling over - rightfully so.
Yordan returning will give them a shot in the arm. A win tonight would go a long way as well. Let's hope this is just one of those bad stretches we see teams go through during the dog days of summer and they snap out of it soon.
Sidenote: Can you imagine being a Seattle fan the last week or so?

We'll certainly know something was up if Dana trades Diaz over the winter. That would shock me, but then it wouldn't, either. If that makes sense…
And I'm not claiming he is a problem. I have no idea.

I'm hoping getting to Baltimore and a change of scenery will reset the club mentally. We shall see. I want to be able to have fun watching them again lol

They are 8-11 since I moved and regained the ability to watch games on TV

We have a plate approach problem and its been evident for years. The last couple of years talented players like Altuve, Alvarez, Tucker, Bregman, and to an extent Meyers putting up good numbers was IN SPITE of our awful team plate approach.
This year is what happens when you remove 3-4 of those guys from the roster. Pena breaking out and Paredes coming over with the most patient approach I've seen from an Astro in 3+ years is what kept this team alive.
Right now, Altuve is an absolute joke. Walker sucks. Diaz sucks. Correa is average.
We swing at the most 1st pitch strikes. We swing and miss a ton because we get behind in counts and end up guessing. We guess because the approach is "aggressive" instead of "see the ****ing ball".
