Saw you talking about there is no way the Astros injuries could be worse than the Orioles. It's literally every good player the Astros have this year who have been injured.

Two of our backend bullpen guys just went on IL within the last two weeks. We're on like a 12 straight games to be played part of the schedule and 3/5 of our rotation is coming off TJ, forearm strain, or been out for 3 months with a broken bone.

So yeah, the rotation and BP is held together by AAA guys, duct tape, and hope - of course they aren't great and have control issues.

Hernaiz did a decent job being down 0-2 and getting a ball to the outfield. Pena or Tuve probably attempt to score there.

23 games in 24 days is brutal

The announcers for the @cchooks were jokingly speculating Yordan Alvarez might be heading to Baltimore given Corpus had the bases loaded and Yordan was scheduled to hit, but was pinch-hit for in the seventh. Have to believe Astros Nation would be thrilled if that was fact.

Agreed.
However, Cam needs to not play for a spell, and then only against LHP.

His OPS is down to .672, he's shaved over 1.0 bWAR off his total, and his defense is now hurting us. If he plays most of the remainder of the games he could get his OPS below .600 and finish off his once considerable +WAR.

I'd toss Caratini into the RHP lineup. He has a knack for getting hits from the left side.

How are you switching the current lineup around? Correa 4 and Altuve 2 w Yord at 3?

Here is my $0.02 take on Lance.

He spent almost 3 years not pitching. He knows how to grip the ball to produce spin but he has no muscle memory for a release point. So a fractional difference in his motion means that the ball ends up in a different place. And he gets so much movement that it's being overly exaggerated by the time the ball gets to the plate.

Actually we should know too. Using high speed cameras and motion sensors they should be able to get very good data on things like this. It's fixing it that's the hard part.

This seems pretty reasonable

Interesting. We are either about to get new injury news, or we are cutting someone loose. Dubin is out of options as is (I believe) De Los Santos.

Lance is an overpaid cheerleader. DFA

Lance would be a perfect tandem with someone like Walter or Gordon. Lance with insane movement from the right paired with someone from the opposite side. A different release and totally different look. Get 3.1 or 3.2 out of each and you shorten the game.
