IMHO, Dana had a very good not quite great offseason.

Parades and Cam for Tucker was a win. It should have been for this season alone, but for Isaac's injury. In a perfect world Cam would have gotten a half season at AAA. He needed it.

Wesneski for Pressly could have been a win but for he injury and TJ to Wesneski.

He had a good set of pickups for the pen and grabbing Alexander was massive.

In season?

The massive numbers of injuries arent Dana's fault. Chas falling into a black hole isnt Dana's fault. His trade deadline pickups were Carlos (A), Urias (INC) and Sanchez (F). They washed out.

Framber completely melting down for 2 months isnt Dana's fault. The hitters all falling off a cliff for 2 months isnt Dana's fault.

Walker falling off a cliff? Thats on Dana and a double hit given how important that FA catch was after Abreu. Its a big miss thats going to get worse. Thast what keeps it from being great.

Huh?

Correa has been pretty good and Urias and Sanchez were both nice additions considering what we gave up. Not his fault Joe didn't deploy Urias correctly.

I thought his deadline was pretty nails.

FWIW I don't think Dana goes anywhere.

Urias I have an INC because Joe just didn't play him. No way to judge the value.

Sanchez should have been a very good pickup especially given what Dana gave up. He may still be. But he was a bust these last 2 months. He contributed nothing. That's not Dana's fault but still as a player grade it's an F for me.

And I don't think he goes anywhere either.

If Dana or Joe are fired, it will be for non-performance based reasons, similar to Click. Hard to fire either guy for not winning enough considering what the IL has looked like all season.

I'll even give Dana a break on Walker. I truly think we would have sen a different hitter if Walker could have filled the role he was brought in for, instead of being thrust into needing to be the primary run producer with Yordan out and Yanier having a down year.

I still want to believe Walker has some good baseball in him.

The fact that he mashed on the road (especially at the NL parks he's familiar with) makes me hopeful that MAYBE he just needs to adjust and be comfortable.

After a full season and offseason maybe he comes back refreshed, motivated, and produces like we expected him to this year.

As of today Dana will almost 100% be back. I would be pretty surprised if Espada is back.

I'd be curious who we would go after or look to get to replace Joe. With that being said, I'm all for it.

Just as long as we don't have to entertain mentions in the media of Ausmus.

Skip Schumacher managed to make the marlins halfway decent, is he still unemployed? What about Beltran?

I think he's under contract, so you'd have trade for him, which the tigers will not do.

Live look at Jim Crane, hopefully, when he sees Hinch in the offseason

I honestly think the oblique strain at the beginning of the year, coupled with being on a new team, has hurt Walker. I think it has taken him a while to adjust and get comfortable.

The stats make me think he is pressing -- trying to make an impact. So -- his K% is way up. His BB% is way down. His first pitch swing % is up by 12% over last year -- swinging at 37% of first pitches. That's a hitting philosophy thing (Cintron). Chase contact is also down.

If the Tigers crater in the upcoming days -- does AJ get fired?

Honestly...We should've gone after Boone before NY extended him.

I'd love to get him, but I have a buddy in Arlington that says he is in the Rangers front office and basically already promised to be Bochy's successor…which could be as early as this offseason.

Just posing the question. I'm not saying he's the solution.

I'm thinking it's more HGH. Catching all those games with the power numbers -- never more than 34 HRs in a season.

Walker turns 35 years old during spring training next year

he is not going to magically start hitting fastballs

his pull % on batted balls is 29% --- woeful for an older player at Daikin

and -6 for defensive runs saved at first base

he hurts the Astros in so many areas. He can't start 150 games next year

On the Walker complete fall off the cliff, I wonder how much of it was separation based. His wife was pregnant and still in Phoenix I think? He's not there and she's probably stressed so he's stressed.

That can't be easy.

Add in the oblique early and now it's all crashing down.

LED BY TEXASAGGIE2015, DIABLOS GIVE ROUGHNECKS A 'CRUDE' AWAKENING

HOUSTON (AP): Move over, Joe DiMaggio. There's a new hit streak on the books.
Thread insider TexasAggie2015 filled up the box score Sunday night, going 1 for 3 with a walk and 2 runs scored to lead the Diablos to a 4-4 tie against the Roughnecks in a result that suggests this league might not be as intense as I am making it out to be.

The game was played at the Roughnecks' home field at the Valero Texas City Refinery. After the game, every single person in attendance complained of labored breathing and feeling something equivalent to "my lungs burning like they're on fire."

2015 moved within 55 games of tying DiMaggio's all-time streak. He is now the team leader in runs scored (4) in just two games. Over a 162-game schedule, that's a pace for 324 runs. The all-time MLB record not including BS guys who played before 1900 when you got credit for a triple if you didn't run into a cow that had wandered out of the pasture onto the field is 177 runs by George Hermann "Babe" Ruth in 1921.

"Statistically speaking, using strictly empirical evidence, that means that of this moment in the multiverse, TexasAggie2015 is 1.83 times better a player than Ruth was," TexAgs' numbers sense champion 2013-2025 MathChum976 said. "Don't get me started about how overrated Ruth was. Do you realize he never struck out a single batter between 1922 and 1929? What a clown."
Much like the local orange-and-blue squad, the Diablos are a team of speed demons. On Sunday, TexasAggie2015 recorded zero stolen bases, while the rest of the team combined for zero bases, keeping him firmly in command of the team league with his one stolen base.
"If I squint my eyes just right, which was easy Sunday night with all that concentrated benzene in the air, I look at him and I see a white Vince Coleman out there," Diablos' manager Busty Daker said. "Hopefully without the whole 'throws fireworks at children' thing."

Yeah, sometimes I think we forget players are human. I know it would be hard for me to work a job -- a 2+ hour plane flight from my pregnant wife (who had the kid during the season). I'm sure he's having to concentrate on the job, worried about his newborn and wife probably snapping at him because he's not home with their family. Add the oblique strain and a new team to it -- struggle ensues.
