And YOU are leaving out the fact that he'll be 34 next season, which all historical indicators would tell you he is more like to get worse than better. He's fat and out of shape. If he is waived and somebody picks him up, his salary comes off the books, the other team picks it up. Which frees up money for the Rangers to spend elsewhere.
And who says we need to have a DH against RHP? Why not find somebody who can hit against both? That does exist, we've had those guys before.
