And YOU are leaving out the fact that he'll be 34 next season, which all historical indicators would tell you he is more like to get worse than better. He's fat and out of shape. If he is waived and somebody picks him up, his salary comes off the books, the other team picks it up. Which frees up money for the Rangers to spend elsewhere.

And who says we need to have a DH against RHP? Why not find somebody who can hit against both? That does exist, we've had those guys before.

He was fat and out of shape last season when he mashed.

Well you're allowed to have a DH when the other team is throwing a RHP lol. Is there somebody attainable who can hit against both? Would that person cost about the same or less than Joc?

I understand the mechanics of the situation. My opinion is that it's worth giving him another shot next season under a new regime who can hopefully have the entire team understanding how to catch up to fastballs.

Been expecting this. Over cautious with him but the normal control has been sporadic and I think they should have skipped a start a couple of weeks ago.

We're going to have to agree to disagree, because in my opinion Joc Pederson is the textbook example of the type of player we need to be getting rid of. And if I were made king for a week, I'd make Corey Seager the DH to try to keep him healthy, at least some of the time. He seems to do fine against both.

This whole bullsh*t narrative about needing platoon players at the DH position is laughable. There's a lot of players, even on this team, who hit against both arm sides. The problem with having guys like Pederson is, if the other team brings in a reliever who throws with the opposite wing, you have to PH for him, which takes a player off the bench.

I was never a fan of the signing, and I hope the Rangers have the sense to recognize it was a mistake and move on.

It almost feels like the front office is already conceding the season.

Jung on the bench. de Grom skipping his next start. Garcia on the "IL", R Garcia being trotted out every chance they get, etc, etc.

I dont think it's a bad plan. Many of us have no expectations for the remainder of the season. I think the FO is in the same boat as us.

Just turned it on with my 8 year old son to watch India hit a foul ball ricochet into his junk. We both laughed as all guys do. But then he was like "Wait, what?!? Mom, said you can't get hit there when you're batting!"

He starts kid pitch this year. New fear unlocked for him lol

He's earned that….but any sort of contract renewal should be heavily scrutinized. The offense the last 2 years has been absolutely abysmal.
