CLE with a homer and an RBI double in the bottom of the 8th to take a 3-1 lead.

It doesn't work if you don't draft well. Much, much more rare to get 3 or 4 young draft hits that do what the Astros did.
Sure, sell off some pieces, but you can still win without stripping it all the way down.
Dana is going to have to have his recent draft picks start hitting.
You have to have the right GM to do it as well. I'm
Not sold Dana could do it.

I know it drives 2015 crazy, but the shtick of Bagwell making all the decision behind the scenes is my favorite running gag on this thread.
Doesn't drive me crazy at all. Not one bit.

Why in the world would they be pulling Cease in the 4th with 69 pitches???

But even trading everything away, you're not guaranteed they will hit. I'd trust Dana more with a trade though.
My point is there are many more teams who have tried a rebuild and it's taken 10 years to get back to relevance than there are who went through 3 years of suck to playoffs, and then to WS.
What the Astros did with the 100 loss teams is the exception as isn't guaranteed again.
I'm not ready to tear it all down. Lots here believe it's just a fix of the hitting coaches and Joe. Why not make those changes and let it play out for a year before burning it to the ground to try to coax the Phoenix out?
The Yankees are the first team in MLB postseason history to have the bases loaded with nobody out in the bottom of the 9th but not score a run and lose the game.

Cease --> Miller --> Suarez
That is strong to quite strong. Sheeeesh.

You just came off a season where you lost the most WAR to injury of any team this year and still almost won the division.
Why would you prefer a rebuild? It's a huge risk you suck for a long time if you rebuild. It feels like a rash and extreme reaction to missing the postseason this year.

Chapman allowing the runner at second to see his grip and relay it to the hitter isn't cheating.....

Ok. I've gotten over my morose feeling of depression.
I'm still not watching games but at least I'm here.
Hot take. I don't think we are firing Joe. Everyone else that cut bait did so yesterday (or Atlanta early today). If it were going to happen it would have.
I'll bet the injuries gets him a break. But I think Cintron and Snitker are sacrificial lambs. The good news is that does allow the pitching coaches to stay.
I also think Perezchica gets moved off 3B. He may stay as IF coach but someone else plays the windmill.

Since it's the offseason. What's the most annoying narrative/individual thing the board has said that you knew was 100% wrong and/or just plain stupid?

I think the Astros are okay with just being okay. Injuries hurt this year but this team was not a great team even if all healthy
