Fun Series. Can the Effin' Dodgers win three pennants in a row? No NL team has won three in a row since the '42-'44 Cardinals. No no NL team has won three WS in a row.

Once they spend another 500 million this off season I'm sure they'll be set for that to happen in 2026.

Huh. Weird response, but ok. Enjoy your bought series. Id feel pretty cheap if I were you.

Good night folks. Now I have to wade through the 100s of gold script Dodgers back to back WS champion shirts to find a solid keeper.

My thoughts exactly. Not much of LA represents the USA anymore, but there have to be some good Americans who are Dodgers fans too.

Yeah, gonna have to disagree with that one. You can't be a dodgers fan and also be a good person, or good anything, and definitely not a good American.

LOL. Someone get this guy a tourniquet for his ******* before he bleeds out

IS small ball coming back? Is that truly happening? I've been mostly a casual fan the past few seasons so I'm legitimately curious…

Also, I've read a couple comments here and there that "this World Series win by the Dodgers is why we won't have baseball in 2027".

It's back to a degree with some teams.

It's pretty simple. The Blue Jays swing 200 mph on every pitch. That's it. In Games 6 and 7, they had at least ten situations that required professional hitting.

A fly ball scores a run.
Dodgers are playing infield back. Put the ball in play and you score a run.
Put the ball in play and runners will advance.
And so on.

They pretty much failed every time.

You bunt Vlad home in the 11th, pitch to the bottom of the LAD order top 12, and get your top up bottom 12. That was a DP looking for a place to happen.

The CBA ends after 2026 and many people, myself included, believe there will be a lockout. The Dodgers have a $500MM payroll with much of it being deferred. They get almost every player posted in Japan since Ohtani signed with them two years ago.

Something needs to happen with player pay. I'm of the opinion that if you can pay it, then pay it. The other teams have to find creative ways to build their rosters, too.

But LA wasn't a slam dunk this year. They had a lot of injuries and weren't the juggernaut people thought they would be.

Force play at home. Catcher will be extending like a first baseman.

Runner stays up runs through the plate and Blue Jays win.

Yeah, MLB has to close the deferred bs and get something more punitive in that, if not a hard cap, almost acts like one. That said, I'm also not going to hate on the Dodgers for playing the game. Textbook hate the game, not the player.

How is the jays manager not getting killed for all of the defensive subs in the 18 inning game. They literally had no hitters in the last 9 innings. That seems very dumb when you are against a team like the dodgers with so much fire power (defensive subs don't matter on home runs). That lost them the game in my opinion.

And then he did the same thing last night, to a lesser degree. Made a couple of subs, including taking bichette out for a pinch runner on first with one out when snell was pitching. I thought that was bad considering bichette was by far the best hitter of the game up to that point and the chances of scoring were not extremely high either way.

"Bunt Vlad home" as in suicide squeeze?

With Barger who has put down 0 sac bunts in his short MLB career?

And bats from the left side giving catcher full view of the incoming runner?

The success probability for that is miniscule.

Hate giving free outs regardless. Ask any pitcher, they'll gladly take your sacrifice. Runner on 2nd with 0 outs has a 60-65% chance of scoring. 3rd with 1 out has 30-35%. Swing away, especially if you have a lineup like the Jays and not full of contact small ballers. Outs are so valuable.

This is not true.

The runs matrix is a 63% chance of at least one run (really 37% chance of nothing) with no outs and a man on 2B.

It's a 67% chance of at least one run (again really 33% chance of nothing) with 1 out and a man on 3B.

2B needs a hit. You trade the hit for extra things like a sac fly, a deeper ground ball that can only be an out at 1B, a hit past a drawn in IF that is normally an out, a WP or PB, a balk or anything even more bizarre.

And you can sac bunt. Squeeze or safety.

They had to have 1 run. Sure 2 wins the series but you have to plate one or it's done. Maximize the chances of scoring 1 run.

If you are playing for a big inning the out is dumb. I agree. But if you are playing for just 1 run it's actually a wash or a slight advantage.

agree. In a tie game, don't sub out a great hitter than can run ok for a better runner. Could be still a long game ahead. Short term thinking...
