When I started this thread Silver was ~$27/oz.

It fell all the way to ~$22/oz in 2022.

Now it's $34/oz.

So 25% increase in value over 5 years.

FTR: Still have not bought any physical silver.

A trivia prompt for precious metals stackers.

A Phrygian cap was an ancient birth control method used by the nymphs of Phrygia. It was modernized by the Dalcon Shield in the 1980s, which operated under the same principle of blocking the cervix.

Wealthy women's Phrygian caps were often lined with gold, making them quite expensive.

Crack up boom - A crack-up boom is an economic crisis characterized by excessive credit expansion, leading to hyperinflation and the collapse of the monetary system. It occurs when a central bank continuously injects money into the economy, ultimately resulting in soaring prices and a breakdown of the currency's value.

Ignore the sales pitch, the chart is a potential "golden roadmap" for what's coming

I have a monster box of Leafs that I'm looking to sell so I can exercise a bunch of stock warrants that I'm about to receive. I was going to check with the local dealer, but I'd rather sell to an Aggie here if anyone is interested. I haven't researched pricing yet but I'll sell at a discount so make me an offer if interested.

Probably this:

...but w/r/t the inflationary pressures, it's pretty obvious now that the OBBBA is law that the plan is to run the economy hot over the next several years via massively cutting regulation, dropping interest rates, and incentivizing businesses via new tax cuts (carrot) and tariffs (stick) to spur GDP growth, coupled with a devalued dollar which boosts export viability...good to be long commodities, especially industrial commodities and doubly so electrical sector.

Copper will always have an industrial/economic aspect to its moves.

Gold is money and shines in times of uncertainty/mistrust. Silver is money but also with a lot of industrial applications, which is why it is b.s. crazy sometimes.

Coinage Act of 1792
Quote:

The act held out the threat of the death penalty to discourage any employee of the mint from secretly debasing the coins (reducing the precious metal content) for personal gain or embezzling precious metals or freshly minted coins.
Bit of an old testament punishment for diluting the value of the currency or outright theft.

"Hey Federal Reserve...about that printing press."

Some wild stuff floating around the innerwebz...

  • Scott Bessent as next Fed Chair. - Trump's "Yes man"
  • Gold on treasury balance sheets re-valued...way up.
  • All countries holding gold on balance sheets re-valued.

How would this affect:
  • Inflation
  • National debt
  • Stock markets
  • BTC

Remember - just a blueprint. Timing is a guess. I'm also banking on this being the silver "catch up" 5th wave extension. If it doesn't extend, $40 is the general target where I will be de-risking by selling many tranches of calls and likely a good portion of my shares. $34 is immediate support.

I don't think $50 p/troy oz is unrealistic at all. I wouldn't be surprised if it shoots well above that.

I doubt Bessent as Fed chair, but it's probably his to say no to. Arguably more power and certainly more interesting in his current role.

Old is new again. Sorry, I misspelled gold is the new dollar again.

I have been a bit of a silver stacker. Nothing crazy. I have started to pay attention to the Gold/Silver ratio as silver has been falling. I see all sorts of rules of when to trade your silver for gold. Anyone have any thoughts?

I was thinking of buying gold when the ratio goes south of 80.

I've been waiting for silver outperformance, and its likely started. Silver tends to finish a metals bull with a big bang. If that ratio drops below 40, I start layering exits. But I still mainly watch the silver chart. Miners should also have a pretty sizeable upward explosion at the same time as silver.

I'll begin trading roughly half of my silver stack for gold if/when the silver to gold ratio nears 70:1. Until then, just holding onto what I have.

If I never have to use it for anything, no shtf moments to worry about, my wife gets to decide what she wants to do with it. She's a stacker too, so she understands the value of the PM holdings at any given time.

Side bar:
Friday, I saw where silver had moved up quite a bit. I opened up my Apmex app to look at the value of my PM portfolio. It looked good. About two hours later, I noticed silver had continued upward. I opened up my Apmex app again to view portfolio and to my surprise, my portfolio had dropped over $900. I have no idea why...

I am looking to make a large purchase and it looks like some retailers charge sales tax for online purchases in Texas and some do not. Any cheap websites that don't charge sales tax? TIA.

There are cheaper, but Wal-Mart.com and SD Bullion execute flawlessly and do not charge sales tax (in my experience).

Walmart, SD Bullion, Bullion Exchange, APMEX. Go to findbullionprices.com to see who has what you want for the best price.

Costco if they have what you want.

There is no sales tax on bullion in Texas. Don't think I've seen a site try to charge me?
