So the only constant is home team crushes foursomes. That probably has to do with course set-up along with rowdy crowds.

That doesn't matter for Ryder Cup play. The format, pairings, team play, intensity, etc all come into play at the Ryder Cup and Team Europe wants to beat the USA team badly.

Of course whose playing the best golf comes into play. It's ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

I'll give you pairings and team play
I won't give you intensity
That's only a talking point win Europe wins. Their "desire to win" never seems to be brought up when they get blown out

The Ryder Cup means more to Team Europe than Team USA. If the Ryder Cup meant anything to Team USA, why haven't we won in Europe since 1993?

If the Napa tourney wants some free pub, they should announce that, in honor of the US team's preparation for the Ryder Cup, they will allow Ryder Cup participants to be paired at the direction of the captain so they get some real world practice together.

No brainer really. The Euros will all be playing in the BMW Championship before the RC so the US team better be getting some game reps in, especially with the long layoff between East Lake and the event. I'm hoping they all go to Bethpage too.

Agreed. Total no brainer. Should have been a no brainer in 2023 too ha.

I think they heard the grumblings about their lack of preparedness for Rome.

This is why I keep saying that the Ryder Cup means more to Europe than it does to us, and god bless Keegan for getting his guys in competitive rounds prior to the cup. Napa should be fun for them - not a huge event, bring the families, enjoy some wine. Create some camaraderie.

Hearing Zach blabber making excuses as to why it was okay for nearly all of his guys to go 6 weeks without competitive golf made me want throw my driver at the TV. I wish the guy asking questions would have asked "would you ever go into a major without playing competitive golf in six weeks?". Of course not. Because majors mean more to the US players than the Ryder Cup does.

But it wasn't even a question for the European guys. Because they care deeply about the cup. They all played, and as Jordan Spieth said in the press conference, they were in great form. Who knows if any of our guys could have been in great form, because they DIDN'T FREAKING PLAY.

At least one guy played in this event before the 2023 cup.....Max Homa. You know the best player on the team that year that went 3-1-1. Funny how that works.

Top 10 (American and European) over the last 6 months strokes gained:

3. Rahm
4. Dechambeau
5. Fleetwood
6. Henley
7. Thomas
8. Bradley
9. English
10. Spaun

7 USA v 3 European

The problem is that doesn't historically mean much in team events.

Joaquin Niemann or Sergio or Burmester or Puig or Tyrell Hatton or Shane Lowry or Ancer shows up and just shoves it down our throats with vigor.

It could be argued LIV golf has helped expand Euro golf with an additional option to the DP World Tour.

Maybe Greg Norman can convince some Saudi prince to bribe Mexico, Chile, and South Africa to becoming part of Europe.

Never heard of the guy, which is why I didn't include him with the other two. Figured maybe he was Dutch or German but didn't have the energy to look him up. But Niemann and Ancer are pretty well known.

I think the tour needs to do better scheduling in Ryder Cup seasons. Do the guys need to play more? Sure. But they get one playing opportunity (in the states) in the month leading up to it at a pretty mah golf course. I don't think them playing Silverado leading up to Rome would've changed much.

Europe was still gonna attack our driving accuracy weakness with course set up, just like they did in 2018 when all of our guys played leading up to the event, just like they did in 2014, and just like they're going to do every year when the Ryder Cup is in Europe until somebody realizes the home course manipulation is ruining the event.

If we win convincingly this year, it would be cool if we offered to have 2027 Adare Manor be the last year that course setup is owned by the home team. Starting in 2029, a neutral party should set up the course. Or some committee with an equal number of reps from both sides.

The tour schedule definitely does us no favors leading up to the Ryder Cup.

The Tour late-season "playoff" schedule does no favors to anyone except the sponsors who want August events in Memphis and Atlanta.

In '23, they could have played in Europe.

It's unfortunately that Willie Z hasn't returned to form. After his multiple second place finishes in majors early on, I thought for sure he'd be on a Ryder Cup team by now. I hope he can turn it around.

Then we would've blamed it on them being tired from being in Europe 3 straight weeks, or going for a week and flying back. Blaming the lack of play is just playing the result. They all played leading up to the previous Ryder Cup in Europe (2018), and got blown out even worse, maybe they thought rest was better this time. None of them played the three weeks leading up to the 2021 Ryder Cup, and they won by a record margin.

Gotterup probably playing his way out this week.
Just too inconsistent. Every week he's either top 20 or MC it seems like, and this week it would've been an MC if there was one.

Is Rickie Fowler going to sponsor exemption into a Ryder Cup slot. Do not like his attitude and demeanor for team events. Never liked his concession at the last Ryder Cup.
