Nah man, it's not ridiculous. It takes a lot of courage to move to a new city, much less across the country, and I think that's pretty admirable.
Stoneface is in Newington just outside of Portsmouth. Its a great beer town (Portsmouth) but used to be better. One brewery recently closed because of government over reach and one moved inland a ways. Stoneface makes some really good Imperial Stouts as well as nice sours and funky beers. That Full Clip you had is great but they make Half Clip Session IPA and Quarter Clip even more sessiony at 3.5% abv. Their venue is cool if you get a chance to go. Love the artwork. They will let you taste any beer, even open a bottle for you. I've never seen another brewery do that. Yes that's Wifey grinning in the first pic.steve00 said:
Indeed. I am a bit ridiculous with the frequency and distance of my moves.
Had a Stoneface Brewing - Full Clip IPA at lunch today. Forgot to take a picture, but it was quite hazy and quite tasty. From the coast of NH.
Steve.. If you want to get into hazies pick up some Modestman out of Keene NH. They are damn near equal to Tree House, cheaper and you don't have to go to the brewery. Spyglass is another one to keep an eye out for.steve00 said:
Nice. I have put it on my list of places to check out on the weekends once I get settled in.
I'm guessing that you, like me, mostly drank regional beers in Germany. I made a number of trips over there in the 80s and I don't think I could name one of the beers (all draft) I had there. I just remember they were universally good.SoTxAg said:
I've had german beer in germany and german beer in the u s of a. I'm convinced they bottle and send us the stuff brewed by the trainees.

Hear hear. Congrats, Steve.
There is plenty of great living outside of the boundaries of Texas. I've only lived in state 1 year within this past decade. Definitely takes a bit of a leap and there are some trade offs.
