Had a pour of Penelope Cigar Sessions: Chapter One tonight. Sweet nose - smelled really nice. Light flavor though - a little cinnamon and oak flavor. Not surprising since it's a blend. A little heat at the end. Got watered down pretty quick with the big cube. Not overly impressed, but it was decent. I don't think I'd pay the $80 per bottle list price. Glad I tried and had something new (to me anyway).

Im a big fan of Penelope. However, Cigar Blend completely missed the mark. Its a monotone white pepper bomb that has zero complexity. I wouldnt add a free bottle to my cabinet and I gave the bottle away along with the misfired Creme Brulee Architect bottle.
Save your money gents- plenty of better bottkes at better prices.

I opened my bottle last night, drank some with a cigar. It didn't really stand out to me with any special notes. Will try again later without the smoke and see how it tastes by itself.
Hey you're in DFW right? Specs in Plano off Coit and 15th had 2 more Prisoner's share for $200 today. Had 3 but I grabbed one because I had never had it and actually remembered this post from 6 weeks ago and figured it was worth the splurge.

Found an EHT Straight Rye yesterday for $99 at Liquor Depot off McCart in South Fort Worth. Not MSRP but just a hair above it so snagged it.
Hot take, but the Straight Rye is my second favorite EHT expression, behind the single barrel. That's a buy all day at $99, in my opinion.
I absolutely love ryes, but was not a big fan of EHT rye

Just me or is this the worst SBS drawing menu in memory? EHT SiB is great, but everything else would be disappointing as far as SBS selections go. The new Saz expression is interesting but it may just be the novelty.

They've said that the 100 proof Saz was literally made for bartenders who didn't want to use regular Saz in old fashioneds because it wasn't punchy enough. So who the hell wants that as a single barrel other than bars?

It may not be your favorite bottles but the experience is amazing. I picked a barrel of Buffalo Trace. So much fun and would do it again in a heartbeat!
