Which location?
I think Burnt Bean, L&L, Goldee's, Truth, and Intersteller are only one's of these to be in top 10. What do I know though.Henry Taylor said:
We are 3 weeks out! How many of the top 10 from the 2021 edition do you think make the top 10 (if they do a top 10 again) this time? And which ones?

I think the guy is key to BBQ. Opening more locations spreads him too thin. Just my opinion though.

When Texas Monthly Magazine releases its list of the 50 best barbecue joints, also known as the Bible of Texas barbecue, later this month, it's widely expected Dayne's will be in the top 10.
Getting there wasn't easy, but they're no longer homeless, just home to some of the best barbecue in Texas.
"Never once have either one of us turned to each other and said, 'are we calling it quits? Are we done? Is this it?' That's never been an option," said Ashley.
"It's pretty crazy to see that we've ended up where we were trying to go," Dayne said. "It started with a dream and now we've actually made it come true."

That was my first thought as well. Lots of really good Q out there these days.

Ate at Eaker's BBQ in Fredericksburg last week, and Texas Country Reporter was there doing a shoot. Episode should be out later this year, October/November time period.
Always great food there!

Went to Terry Blacks a few months ago, I thought it was quite good but not as good as Ten50. I'm sure I'll get flamed but I thought the flavor on the brisket at TBs wasn't on par with Ten50 plus the sauce was average.
I didn't enjoy my two meals at Ten50. Atmosphere was cool (and probably cost a fortune). Read an article today saying they were opening up location in Devonshire neighborhood of Dallas. Uppity folks will love their bbq at $50/lb. Probably a smart move by them.Saxsoon said:VP at Pierce and Pierce said:

I never had a good meal at Ten50 but willing to give it a shot since it has been awhile since I last went

I believe that's in San Antonio at The Pearl. There is one in the works for Houston, but the hotel is in SA.TXAG 05 said:VP at Pierce and Pierce said:jja79 said:

I saw somewhere that Terry Blacks is going to open a Houston location too, along with an adjoining hotel.

Love Eaker BBQ. They lived in our hood in Houston, and we used to get from their food truck all the time. Got me so fat during COVID.
I tried responding to this initially, but then just ended up including all 10 of them. My top 10 list is probably about 15 long...agcrock2005 said:I think Burnt Bean, L&L, Goldee's, Truth, and Intersteller are only one's of these to be in top 10. What do I know though.Henry Taylor said:

This is a GREAT comparison IMO. I've been to both and feel the same about both.DiskoTroop said:agcrock2005 said:I didn't enjoy my two meals at Ten50. This is how I feel about J-Bar-M in East Downtown Houston. Just can't see what all the fuss is about.

I go to J-Bar-M fairly frequently though. It's a convenient and quick stop on the way back from Hobby. It's always good, but not Top 50 stuff. I like the menu and man, did they put some money into it.
The thing that find interesting about J-Bar-M is that the diners there are usually the most beautiful people I've seen at a Texas Barbecue place.
I've met the owner's of both places and they're both run by awesome people. I think it you hit Panther City on a good day, then they're comparable to Hurtado's. I've had them when they're spot on and when they were meh. Hurtado's (Arlington specifically) I've been to 3 times in the last 18 months and it was consistently top notch. If I had to choose one then I'd go Hurtado.VP at Pierce and Pierce said:
What is better between Panther City and Hurtado? And what's the order particularly with the sides?
Damn. They're closed on Tuesday's.agcrock2005 said:
I don't think they're top 50, but I've been wanting to try Brix for a couple years and I'm going to be near there tomorrow at lunch. How's the line and what should I make sure to get?

And what exactly do you know about the subject? Can't wait to see the new top 10. Going to be some superstar places for sure.Beef Cheek said:
