The big difference is Caruso learned to knock down open 3s at a high level. That's almost mandatory in today's NBA. I didn't think he'd do it and was completely wrong. Congrats to him.
He did shoot 50% from 3 (on 50 attempts) after being called up by the Lakers, but he was shooting 27% from 3 for the year on his G League team prior to being called up (some of that was likely based on having to jack up bad shots to bail his team out at the end of the shot clock - he had over 4 attempts a game and was probably the best player on his team). I'll be rooting for him and hope I'm wrong, but I think his shooting comes back down to the 32-35% range from 3 this year.

Well, getting a minimal two-year 2.75mm deal is nice, but that's not making it in the NBA. Talk to me when he gets a max deal.
there are a remarkable number of folks STILL in denial! WOW! so making over 21/2 Million a year is somehow still "not making it"? just admit you were wrong and move on with life fellas!

Yeah, Alex IS a 21st Century NBA PG. All-time assist leader here and 2 year leader in the SEC.
Let's just be honest. Alex would've gotten a lot more run if he had a better tan. Had to overcome Ryan Swope Syndrome. Regardless, AC is a badass, and one of the top 250 basketball players on the planet. Here's to climbing a bunch more rungs, and rooting for the Lakers for the first time ever.
I'm sorry he has to deal with Rajon. Hope he's starting come playoffs. I have reservations about that happening primarily due to the speed of the NBA game...when they're not standing around with 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 isos that is...

I'll admit to being in the camp that was 100 perc wrong years ago on this. Alex has done amazing. But no need to make s&&& up.
Glad for Alex but how much does he actually pocket after California taxes, agent fees and US taxes??
Quite a bit of money to play a sport he's passionate about. 45-50% in taxes + agent fees. Still $1MM+/yr with I'm sure some bonus options and potential endorsements. So quite a bit more than I make..

Yeah, don't know about the jml guy, but Alex developing a 3 point shot turned him into a triple threat as a free agent. Alex is a LOT more athletic than JJ Redick.
TBF the 2-way contract to prove yourself to Coach/GM LeBron did not exist in 2016.
