It was still a fun season...

Yea...our team was terrible and we saw the lowest of the lows sometimes, but I still wouldn't trade any other sports season for a season of Aggie/college baseball. Thanks to all of you on this board for putting up with my (sometimes unhinged) rants and for engaging in the best college baseball conversation you'll find anywhere. I'll be closely watching the countdown thread until we get to the start of the 2026 season.

Here's hoping for a better Aggie baseball performance next year...

Y'all have a great summer, fall, and winter...and let's do this all over again in February.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Aggie baseball is by a very large margin my favorite sport/team to follow, college or professional. But I wouldn't say this season was fun. Some highlights indeed (like every season), but I'd say it was the most frustrating season ever. I do know one thing - I'll be going into next season with much lower expectations.

While I wouldn't call it a "fun season"… it's definitely and it's moments. That 4 week stretch of Tennessee, Arkansas, SC and LSU was a blast. But the rest of it really sucked

We will be back in the tournament next year though and hope will spring eternal

And what a frustrating run it was. I was watching SEC now after the Auburn game and the analyst says A&M beats good teams. It's what A&M does.. it was not said in a positive way.

I called it a fun season because I got to go to about 7 games this season with either family, friends, or co-workers. Each game was a blast...even watching the beating Texas State put on us. I still enjoyed watching on TV or listening on the radio to all 60-ish of our games this season.

No...the outcomes of a lot of the individual games were not fun, but Aggie baseball is still my favorite all-time sport. Therefore, it was (overall) fun.

I went to a few games

We lost every one of them.

Yeah it's fun going to the games, but this season just needs to be put to rest and forgotten. Hopefully we'll do better next year

A historical collapse of the country's number one team just wasn't fun, no matter how you look at it.

2026 will be a new season

unfortunately, it's going to revolve heavily, heavily, heavily around one particular weekend at Blue Bell

but that's the way it is now

Before you depart Luke.....

After reflecting on what LSU just did, it seems impossibly challenging that a young coach like Earley can break through with coaches/staff/players like Johnson has in the dugout. Do you agree and do you feel like Earley can convince elite players (like LSU good) to come here and does he have the coaching in him to climb the mountain and win it all? I know, its a loaded 80k foot question but wth. Just feels like we have so far to go to get to an elite level. Hope the recruits out there see the potential.

We have a habit as a fan base of celebrating spoiling instead of consistently pulling for the team and our absolute worst tendency is to crap on the team when things go even slightly sideways.

I have zero clue if that impacts the players, but it creates mobs who usually are characterized by their loudest and lowest IQ contributors. Sorry if that hurts anyone's feelings. Feel free to take a shot back at me for refusing to draping our players with negatives and trying to be an encouraging and positive while also noting occasional things that could be improved. I try to never make it personal against our student athletes because that just doesn't work if you want a new set of good ones.

It was definitely a heartbreaking season. Lots of opportunity to teach the boys.

This board, however, is always fun even if my block button got a workout this season.

No...I do not believe he can. Besides that, I do not believe he can develop the players once they get here. The CWS broadcast crew over and over and over this week talked about what great developers of talent the CWS coaches were. How they took raw, unpolished players and turned them into CWS-worthy and MLB-worthy players. I want to like Coach Earley and the staff and I certainly want them to succeed, but our staff (even with Pennington on it) is light years behind what the nation's elite programs have. We have a long, arduous, uphill climb ahead of us that will not be fixed with a handful of so-so transfer portal guys. We're looking at another disappointing season ahead (which pains me), but I will still have fun following the team in 2026.

The highs were high and the lows were dang low.

What sticks with me, and what I am going to miss the most are the players from 2024 and 2025 seasons. Schotty, LaViolette, Bmonty, Appel, Praeger, Teddy two-bags, Aschenbeck,Targac, Tnut, just to name some.

Excited for the next generation to carry the torch, but miss the guys above.

the situation feels similar to when Childress took over and had to compete against Augie and Graham

on the field and off the field (recruiting) -- it took a while to build a better roster

It was an observation of the comment made by Todd Walker and perceptions on national show. I wasn't happy that it was made but I understood why it was. You could see the potential in the team, but then we would lose games we shouldn't.

I'm a season ticket holder and I saw a lot of baseball issues - some by the coaches and some by the players. It was a disjointed season and it's ok to say that. Doesn't mean you don't support them. My expectations are high for the program overall and I know their expectations are as well.

The South Carolina come back is one I will remember being at for a long time.

I'll probably subconsciously slot it into the 2024 season for my mental health later.

Swept by 0-24 Mizzou team. That is not the definition of "fun season". Literally the opposite as we sat and watched (most of us) our season hopes of creeping into the post-season sink like a cinder block.

Some folks here use "expectations" to mean "we demand." I'll suggest that is not what the word means. If you want to say you predict as an expectation then temper it when your prediction fails. Or better yet…blame the predictor for the disappointment…

My comments were usually about specific plays we didn't execute in a common baseball way whether errors or just fielder's choice mistakes that might not have gotten an E. You say it almost like a scorekeeper which is neutral not malignant.

I'm glad you still support the team. Now instead of being their theater critic (who doesn't hate those guys?) be an advocate of your team in all situations. Tell others the positives especially when your "expectations" are wounded.

Yes, it was a good season. One definitely that won't be forgotten, for obvious reasons. But lots of of positive moments and memories as well. The boys will remember it and cherish it forever. I'll also remember and cherish the time spent game after game with true fans and truly good people. Can't wait to do it again next season.
