Oh yeah I totally understand! I was hoping for a press conference day 1

So I have been trying to figure out for a while now where Molly Brown was going to go. I knew she had a year of eligibility left, but it seemed evident that she was leaving the A&M program after the 2024 season even though she was around all Spring. She was in College Station this summer, finishing up a masters degree and worked some of the Aggie volleyball camps. Well, my wife did a little Internet sleuthing this morning and found out that she is joining Western Michigan volleyball for the 2025 season. I always appreciated Molly's enthusiasm on the court and wish her all the best with her new team. I hope she gets a ton of play time with the Broncos.

I had no clue she had another year of eligibilty!! But will be rooting for her to get on the court!!

Looks like they split them up early on between starters vs reserves! Wonder if they'll start switching teams

It most likely won't be, I'm hoping for some live stats but I'm skeptical on that either. I wouldn't want to show Minnesota anything either!

Overall, I am happy with that spot for us. Now I think some others on that list are in interesting spots but all in all a good week 1.

It'll sort itself out! Hopefully we go pick up a couple wins in Utah! Utah should be ranked around 18-20! A road win there would be be a huge boost to us before we go take on TCU and SMU

Our official AVCA ranking fell to 10

A 5 set match against an ASUN team doesn't help. Our next match is against #21 Utah

I think the issue with rankings within the top is that so many play top teams that the people doing the rankings like lock teams that dont play as much. I think Morrison needs to schedule a bit harder for us.

yeah I totally agree. He said he tired to schedule a tougher schedule but was unable to. It will sort itself out I know, but maybe it'll give us a better edge and motivation going into the next few weeks!! 3 ranked opponents! Use it as billboard material!

May have to go to TCU as well. They are currently up on Penn State 2-1 on sets.

I know some teams have set agreements where they rotate away and home matches but not sure how long those go for. Not sure about the invitationals though and if thats a team that hosts it and picks the teams.

We have some good matches in the early season but too many versus no-names. All of these top teams playing other top teams. Lose a match, doesn't hurt too much as RPI remains high.

For us, playing low level teams, there is no benefit at all. RPI may go down with a win or loss? Certainly we would be penalized heavily with a loss, god forbid.

Ohio State a few years ago was highly ranked but had big roster turn over (I think). They lost and lost but against good teams. It took a 9 losses versus ranked teams before they dropped out of the top 25.

Yep. 3 of Nebraska's first 4 matches were against top 10 ranked teams. #3 Pitt, #6 Stanford, #7 Kentucky. All wins. To play with the big girls play ya gotta play a big girl schedule. Love my Ags but they got work to do. Too bad ya can't recruit elite athletes to Nebraska.

Jamie knows how to play the RPI game. He doesn't like it, but he knows how to play. Rice may not help our RPI right now, but they were projected to win their conference which will help our RPI on the back end.

As for the top 10 who all refused to play us, I'd guess there is a bit of prove you belong here first attitude. A non-conf loss to a top 10 teams doesn't hurt much at the time, but if that preseason top 10 team ends up falling out of the rankings by the end of the season, it hurts when it matters. Make another deep run this year then maybe we get some respect.

We need an elite 8 run to break any notion that we don't belong.

Kind of off-topic but about us not getting respect yet, was it just me or was Lednicky a bit disrespected on the USA VNL team by the teammates? While it looked like Logan earned a starting role during the first few games, whenever Babcock came in, the rest of the team gravitated towards her and a lot more sets seemed to go her way. Could just be my BAS flaring up though and I'm seeing things that aren't there, but it pisses me off that this kind of pettiness happens.

this is sorta the same situation MBB has been in for some time. Either schedule cupcakes at home and take the RPI hit or go out and play neutral site or away games to boost RPI for post season.

I like that Coach is trying to play the angles to pay off in seeding and post season. It could be real easy to play easy teams at home and pad that Win record but not help yourself in post season seeding

I think you are reading too much into that. I saw several tik toks made by players on VNL and she was in them and they seemed like friends.
