Tennessee has released its full schedule, aside from a home match against Purdue (who lost a lot of talent) the rest of the schedule is USF, Wofford, Samford, Winthrop, Delaware State, St John's, Rider, Kennesaw State

A pretty weak non conference schedule is you ask me

In fact Tennessee is hosting Purdue in what's called the Broadway Block Party which also features Nebraska vs Kentucky! Going to be fun to watch!

Surprised they'd reschedule Wofford after last year's debacle...

What are y'alls thoughts on SMU? They pulled off some major upsets last year but I guess teams were able to figure them out and scheme against them successfully cause they didn't end up making much noise as the season went on.

I'll definitely be rooting against them! I think they're totally bought into the idea of just buying their starting lineup every year! They'll have talent, but like you said it takes a lot more than some talented pieces! It showed in the scrimmage when we took it to them 3-0! I'd love to play them non conference

also I see it's your first post! Welcome to TexAgs and the new volleyball board! I'm hoping this new forum will help bring attention to the volleyball team! And I'm hoping it'll get going closer to the season!

We took them in 3 because they are literally a brand new team and we are as seasoned as they come. LOL Not to take away from the talent on our team. We are better this year and our ceiling is higher as well.

Unless SMU recruited the wrong mix of transfers, they will be good again. That's just how it is nowadays. I think I watched 1 or 2 of their games last year. They looked legit and played with a lot of confidence. I can't remember a single girl on the team though...

Maybe kind of like when the NHL created the Vegas expansion team. Filled an entire roster with good players picked from existing teams but no superstars. The average talent of that team was way above the other teams and they found their way to the Stanley Cup Finals in the first year.

True! They'll still win lots of games, but in a do or die match vs a team with much more chemistry and experience I'll take the latter!!

It's true we swept them in the scrimmage @ SMU but they also swept us in Aggieland earlier in the Spring. I think each set we lost was razor thin.

Is it just me or is one of these not like the others lol. Mizzou just seems like an odd choice based on the quality of all the other programs.

I'm guessing because they got into the sweet 16 last year too. They did lose some big pieces but added a strong hitter in Caylen Alexander so I'm guessing they have them 4th in the SEC

What's more surprising is they put Florida with North Carolina

And Tennessee vs a weak Georgia Tech

Touche, guess that went under my radar. Thanks to ESPN Plus bias our fam watched a lot more BIG volleyball than SEC last year.

tu swept Utah and had a couple close sets. It's known that Torrey Stafford played well as expected. They have some great liberos and they played well. One of their stud freshman played tremendously but the other Cari Spears struggled heavily hitting around -.200. They said there was a big struggle setting and none of the right sides stood out between Spears and two seniors. They also got out blocked by Utah. One of the middles transferred and that was a weak part of their game last year.

So they're gonna be pretty one dimensional if they can't figure the right side. Little things like that separate the sweet 16 teams to the final four.

We also play Utah and they are currently ranked 23rd

Oh yeah I totally get that, but I'm just starving for any volleyball content
