12th Man Bio:
https://12thman.com/sports/womens-volleyball/roster/kirra-musgrove/14793Next up is Kirra Musgrove a spectacular setter out of H-Town! Just down the road, Kirra committed to Jamie Morrison as one of his earliest targets. She was Jamie's first commit for the 2025 class, she committed June of 2023. She had her mind made up and she trusted Jamie and his vision early on! She was listed as the number 24 recruit in the nation.
Kirra played volleyball at Lutheran South Academy, a private school in Houston that competed in the TAAPS division. she was a multiple time all district and all state member for LSA. Now I'm warning you, these are actually her stats. Her stat line is alarmist impossible to believe. As primarily a setter, she amassed 2,030 assists. Impressive in its own right, however, we're not done there. She also had 1,854 kills, 1,271 digs, and 304 aces. I don't know what her school's mascot was, but it should be the Lutheran South Academy Kirra Musgrove's because that stat line is wild! Look up versatility in the dictionary and Kirra's photo should come out!!
Club wise she played with Houston Skyline. Now if you're not familiar with Houston Skyline, buckle in because a third of our roster played for this club and even our coaching staff has worked for or with Skyline! At only 15 she played with Skyline's 17 team and finished 3rd at nationals and earned all tournament team! Setting for a team with that talent and with older girls will help her translate to the college game. Fun fact, our 2 other setters Maddie Waak and Margot Manning also played for Houston Skyline!
Other members on our team with Houston Skyline connections are Logan Lednicky, Morgan Perkins, and Ava Underwood. While Lexi Guinn and Emily Hellmuth played for Dallas Skyline. It's fitting that all our setters are from the same club! Although most of setting duties will go to Maddie Waak, who played excellent for us last season. I'm sure we'll see some of Margot Manning and Musgrove. We saw in the scrimmage against SMU, Musgrove would sub in while we were serving. Standing at 6'2, she's much taller than Waak and Manning. She can provide a bigger block at the net! We saw in high school she played all over the court so her versatility along with her touch will be a presence to this team, as well as her serving ability!
A theme in these early recruits of the Morrison Era is versatility. I discussed this about Taryn Morris, we see a lot of versatility in Musgrove's game! It's good to know that despite being primarily brought in as a setter, she can do plenty for the Aggies. She looked really strong this spring, setters one of the toughest positions to adapt to at the college level as the speed is much faster, so hiccups are expected for a young freshman. But she shined through and showed great promise.
Jamie Morrison had this to stay on her setting and versatility, "Kirra [Musgrove] is first and foremost one of the best setters in the class," Morrison said. "She has great touch as a setter and experience running a fast offense that will fit what we are trying to do in Aggieland. She is also a physical athlete that can play the opposite position if needed and adds a presence at the net as a blocker regardless of what position she is playing."
It's known we have a stellar senior class. Part of that class is Senior setter Maddie Waak. Her setting led us to a sweet sixteen and with another year and off-season with this team, her game should be even more improved. However, Musgrove is just as capable and will get to learn behind Waak! Also I'm sure we'll see her set in some matches or display her versatility playing at the net.
Musgrove is only a freshman, but the future of Aggie Volleyball is in her hands (literally). She's the setter of the future and that should give every Aggie some hope and faith in the direction of Aggie Volleyball.
Also if you're a fan or become a fan of Kirra and get used to a Musgrove setting for the Aggies, you're in luck, her little sister Addison is a part of the Houston Skyline 15 Royal team and class of 2028!
