Like riding a moped. A lot of people have done it. Few admit to doing it

R.O.T.O.R!

It's sooooo bad. So bad it circles back to good and then back to horrendous.

(Yes, that is an actual serious scene above)

One of my favorites. I have it on my Plex server (my DVD copy was kind of flaky and it would only work in certain players, back in the day). These days, I no longer have any DVD player.

This movie, IIRC, was written/about some guys from Baylor, but they were concerned/worried that if Baylor was the initial setting, Baptists would become upset. So, the initial setting was changed to UTex.

Anyhow, good movie. I watch it about 2-3x per year, usually I just start it up when I'm doing something else.

The following movie is really enjoyable. Sweet, uplifting, good message. Based on a true story. A little bit "stick-it-to-the-man". Maybe it's well-known but everyone I've told about it had no knowledge of it. It's on Netflix. I watched with subtitles because I couldn't catch every word (I'm probably a little OCD). It's in English, of course, but English as spoken in the UK.

Forgot to mention this movie. Came out a few years ago. It was nice. I mentioned it to some friends/relatives after I watched it. Nobody had heard of it. Worth a watch. Crazy to think that pinball used to be banned.

It's extra interesting/enjoyable to watch movies that are based on a true story and are engaging (like Bank of Dave, above)

Stream-able on Hulu

Private Lessons. The director got so much hate mail for it that he never made another movie. It was mostly filmed in Arizona but they had to film the sex scenes in New Mexico where the age of consent was lower. People would go to jail for making this movie today, especially if the male-female roles were reversed. Surprisingly, it seems to be available on BluRay.

Here's another schlocky 80s scifi movie.

Runaway (1984) stars Tom Selleck as the cop, Gene Simmons as the villainous evil genius, and Kirstie Alley in a bit part. Robots go berserk and start murdering people. It includes mid-80s Ford Taurus as futuristic police cruisers

Oh man I just remembered one, The Land of Faraway AKA Mio in the Land of Faraway.

It's a classic 80's fantasy/adventure fever dream scar kids for life dark film. Mio is an orphan living with horrible foster parents. He ends up meeting a giant disembodied head of a genie who whisks him away to the Land of Faraway by holding onto is bead as they fly through the sky (as one does).

He finds out his dad is still alive and is king. Also many people in the Land of Faraway are doppelgangers for people from his old life and it's never explained why (just roll with, ok?). Life is pretty sweet on the island where he lives. He dad is king, he has a special white horse, and he has a new best friend Jum-Jum who is played by a young Christian Bale (his first feature film). They even learn to play the pan flute. Everything is great until they go to slay the evil nkight (Christopher Lee) who has trapped hundreds of children at his castle by turning them to birds. They eventually succeed and return heroes to live happily ever after in the Land of Faraway

The movie shares so many tropes with NeverEnding Story, I used to get them confused as a kid. Oh and there is so much pan flute music. You can find the full ripped version on youtube but for now I'll just share the trailer and movie poster.

Agreed. I went into the movie know it was him. But in a relatively cheesy movie, he played a really good role.
