That was the most obvious work ever. They let Heyman oversell it by constantly saying he would be out for "months and months".

Haven't been following since the "injury" but the video looked very bad for his knee. Maybe they got better news on the MRI and re worked it, or it was planned from the start. Either way, pretty solid storytelling.

So where do they go with Roman/Jey now that their match is over? Do they work them in with Punk or revive the Bloodline storyline?

I'm a huge Rollins guy so tonight was awesome. He's been my favorite since heist of the century. I was 70/30 that the injury was real so that reveal was a lot of fun.

Bron Breakker is a total star and Cornette is correct to call him and Gunther the future of the company. The name is beyond dumb, however, and he should have something awesome like Rex Steiner.

Jelly Roll impressed, and Logan Paul deserves a lot of credit for taking the business seriously. He sells like a champion and does the big and little things to generate heat very well - primarily, by leaning into his true obnoxious self. Very good talker also.

Cargill and Stratton were by far the best girls, although even a skilled performer like Charlotte has the same issue they do - cooperation is way too obvious. Make me believe, I want to. Only Rhea Ripley does that.

Gunther is obviously an amazing technical wrestler but the crowd just seems dead during his matches. Everything he does is below the top rope. I'm not sure they could ever make him the face of the company because I don't think the fans react to him well enough. My daughter and I watch together and she thought the Punk match was the most boring of the night.

I know Gunther is a great gimmick because I hate him, which means he's doing his job as a heel. However, I think the best heels are the ones you love to hate so much you end up liking them, like Ric Flair, and he doesn't have that type of charisma.

But Gunther is the exact opposite type of heel than Flair. He doesn't cheat, no chickenshi* antics, no beg-offs, just 100% full throttle bad guy. I actually love Gunther and think he's the best thing in WWE at the moment. Can't really stand Rollins and agree with Bully Ray that all he is a cool entrance. I can't believe they had Punk go over Gunther (especially after Jet did too), but I also see how last night's swerve was way too good to pass up.

Gunther is a great wrestler but I definitely think taking the title off of him was smart. I stopped caring about his feuds until he faced CM punk and the heavyweight title felt like an afterthought with him as champ.

I think Rollins is far and away the greatest professional wrestler in the world currently when it comes to total package.

In ring ability, work rate, storytelling, presentation, psychology, mic skills, creativity... there's no one that does it all on his level.

Ospreay is the best pure in ring wrestler in the world currently, but as Punk has proven time and time again - that's only part of it.

My MODERN Mt. Rushmore is Flair, Terry Funk, Harley Race, and Austin for in-ring ability, work rate, promo, and business (Rock and a couple others would fit, for sure, but these are wrestlers first)

Rollins has the talent to join them, even as the past couple of years have been annoying. (And I care, so it worked) … If anything, he has done too much, especially as Tyler Black.

Edit: have to add Savage, probably my favorite of all time alongside Flair. Gunther reminds me of him, in that he's just a world class worker. His early matches with Ilja Dragunov were amazing.

I think Rollins is one of the top for sure. The only thing that gets to me at times can be how choreographed some of his moves are. That little prep before. Not quite purely smooth. It's a nitpick though. He has carried WWE in a lot of ways the last 10 years and Roman should be thanking him every day for being something else for the fans to root for through the "force roman on everyone forever" days.

I hold on to a very unrealistic hope that a healthy Rollins and Omega can face off before both get too old.

I hate the Seth Freaking Rollins character with the bizarre outfits and his "song," but the guy might be the most consistent performer they have. Goes out almost every show and puts on a good performance. He is a legit main eventer.
