Ray Mendoza is a former Navy Seal with Seal Team 5. Also was a BUDS instructor. I'd assume this is going to be about the Battle of Ramadi. Seals had Sniper overwatch helping the Marines.Claude! said:
Based on the director's experiences in Iraq apparently.

Interesting, I thought Alex Garland had announced he was retiring after Civil War. It's been several years now since he said that, though.
Thought the same thing. Looked very much like BHD.brew82 said:
Has some Black Hawk Down vibes. I'll be watching this one.
I enjoyed it thoroughly in the theater on opening night...was only one of about a dozen people in there. Rewatched a few months later at home and it just didn't seem to hold up as well as I thought it would. I can't explain it, just fell flat and anticlimatic in a few spots. Had to remind myself that some of it seems to be intended to be symbolic/satirical.Dr. Not Yet Dr. Ag said:
I loved Civil War, as well. The action sequences were phenomenal which gives me high hopes for this movie.
He looks more like a young grunt to me.HollywoodBQ said:
Just got served the trailer for this.
Can't believe the meme kid from "We're the Millers" is a Navy Seal but cool.
Looking forward to seeing this on the big screen.
Yep, never would have predicted it. Dude's got somoe solid acting chops though imo.Saxsoon said:

Looks good.
But Civil War was just not all that and I have yet to talk to anyone that saw it that thought otherwise. Pretty meh.
WARFARE, the most intense 90 minutes of a film that I've seen in a long time. Incredible directing, sound, and performances, particularly Joseph Quinn. Every performance I see from him, I'm continuously blown away. Really good movie. pic.twitter.com/g62bPx8cCb

Totally overwhelmed by #WARFARE. Undeniably one of the most immersive and visceral war movies I’ve ever seen — and also one that romanticizes war the least. Gripping from the moment it opens, Warfare puts the viewer right smack in the middle of a mission gone wrong. You’re… pic.twitter.com/pegDWmoZOx

#Warfare is almost unbearably tense — a you-are-there combat movie free of nearly all frills. Excellent performances from the young cast, with Garland and Mendoza working beautifully together. Also has one of the most incredible sound mixes ever — see it in the loudest theater. pic.twitter.com/yLYMRrXCyu

WARFARE thrusts viewers directly into the heart of combat, delivering a real-time intense experience that few films can match for sheer immersion. Agony, precision, disorientation, chaos, violence, and bravery unfold in relentless succession, as Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza craft… pic.twitter.com/yMcDDCvhEb

I’m absolutely floored by #Warfare. Brutal, realistic, horrifying, and one of the most harrowing depictions of war on screen. It plays out like a horror film ratcheting up tension. There’s one scene that had me covering my ears. Amazing film. Best use of “Call On Me” ever. #A24 pic.twitter.com/oqCulTGpll

WARFARE is visceral, exhilarating, and intense; it’s an all-out-assault on the senses! Unquestionably the most authentic and realistic combat film ever made, this DEMANDS to be experienced on the big screen! The sound design team better win all of the awards next year @A24 pic.twitter.com/9pNxPviiob

Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza’s #Warfare is definitely the most intense film I’ve watched this year. Incredibly immersive in its approach, we’re thrust into an impossible situation w/ soldiers trapped inside a home under attack.

There’s little breathing room and lots of action… pic.twitter.com/jajG2BGEd9
WARFARE: A visceral 90-minute war drama that drops you behind enemy lines in the middle of the gory action. Like UNITED 93, it’s less about a narrative than about a terrifying situation with life-and-death stakes. No score, but the sound will blow your eardrums out. VERY intense!

Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza’s Warfare is an honest, harrowing, intense and powerful piece. It’s one of the first must see movies of the year. An incredible tribute to the unimaginable sacrifice this brave band of brothers made. Incredible stuff. Flawless #Warfare #WarfareMovie pic.twitter.com/6NgNzhQZIP

#Warfare is an intensely gripping combat film that fully immerses you in the action. The cast delivers standout performances, with Garland and Mendoza's chemistry truly shining. Brutal. Unflinching. Relentless. WARFARE isn’t just a war film—it’s an experience. Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza strip away the spectacle, delivering a raw, nerve-wracking descent into modern combat. The sound design is stunning, the action is visceral, and the tension never lets… pic.twitter.com/BCCPr2pFlp
