i believe they are....

i think there are some issues that might have the big wigs worried because the international box office from what ive read and other films this is being compared to isn't good....domestically doing 120-something million is pretty decent especially if it grows legs going into the second weekend....

but doing under 100 million internationally is probably below what they were hoping for.....the following super hero movies over the last 3 years that made over 400 million worldwide (or close to it)....

The Batman...47.8% domestic...52.2% international
Dr Strange MoM...43% domestic...57% international
Thor L&T...45.1% domestic...54.9% international
Black Adam...42.7% domestic...57.3% international
Black Panther WF...52.8% domestic...47.2% international
AntMan Quan...45.1% domestic...54.9% international
Guardians 3...42.5% domestic...57.5% international
Aquaman Lost K...28.3% domestic...71.7% international
Spiderman Verse...55.2% domestic...44.8% international
Deadpool & Claws...47.6% domestic...52.4% international
Venom 3...29.2% domestic...70.8% international
Captain A 4...48.3% domestic...51.7% international
Thunderbolts...49.7% domestic...50.3% international

Currently Superman is sitting at an estimated 56.2% domestic and 43.8% international....so this is definitely outside the norm for comic book films (it should be stated that there were plenty of other examples of international > domestic but those made so little money by comparison i wanted to keep things similar)...

so based on opening weekend IF this thing DOES NOT grow legs and has the standard drop off for superhero movies in general then id expect a domestic box office somewhere around 260 - 290 million....

but if the split between international and domestic numbers holds about the same then i'm guessing worldwide this film will end up doing around $489 million bucks....that aint good for WB....

what i'm hoping for is that this film hasn't been released in all international markets yet...heard that there were some big films in the past that don't have the exact same release date as what they do in the US so fingers crossed that the international numbers will see a jump....

time will tell....

Is there a link anywhere of the post credit scene?

Not an explanation, but just the post credit scene?

All that "this is political" turned out to be horse****, as I hoped it would.

I agree. Honestly, if the director just hadn't made the comments he did it wouldn't have gotten such a negative reaction. I think most people just want to be entertained and I really wish that actors and producers and such just would let that be.

There was a lot going on there in this movie and you could compare it to a lot of different parallels, but the guy just should've kept his mouth shut. At the end of the day it was just a good action movie about a superhero and a bad guy.

It is not the political message that many are thinking that it is. At least not the one they're thinking it is.

I thought it was pretty good. Not the best movie I've ever seen, but it was enjoyable and I laughed several times. And honestly, the dog was pretty damn funny.

There were two of them. A very short one early on and then a little bit longer one at the end.

This shows the first one it's really short with the dog looking down at earth. The second one is them just talking in front of the building about it being messed up.

Someone online pointed out that Gunn basically turned Jor El and Lara into General Zod.

It has to be setup for Zod.

Cooper would be a good Zod, although obviously that's not going to happen.
IMDB says Gunn offered him to be Luthor, which is hard to imagine.

So if Superman's parents really were evil and meant for him to conquer earth, what notes did Supergirl get from home?

They're basing her movie on the Woman of Tomorrow run by that one DC writer who is former CIA. In that book, her dad (Jor-El's Cousin) wanted to build giant glass domes around Kryptonian cities to protect it from the coming disaster. No on listened, he did it, so Kara (Supergirl) grew up on a crust of Krypton with everyone basically starving to death/dying from Kryptonite poisoning slowly over time. Her parents eventually realized that they were also going to die so they sent her to Earth to be with her cousin when she was a teenager. (This isn't spoilers as it's like the first quarter of the 1st issue of the run they're basing her movie off of.)

The gist of that should already be known to anyone who saw the awful 1984 with the hot Supergirl Helen Slater.

Good call. Terrible movie.

True story - Supergirl was one of the 2 times in my Aggie life that I was 100% certain the Aggies were about to lose a football game, so I opted to see a movie instead of subject myself to that gridiron torture. The Ags had lost ugly in 82 and 83 to the hated sips, and in 84, the Ags were kinda a middling program while sippy was a top 10 team. Even though the Ags had defeated a top 20 TCU team the week before, I went to see Supergirl. I had not turned off the radio before I turned off my car when I got to the movie. I go in, see the movie, ick, get back in my car and start it up. The radio came on instantly. I was starting to drive away when the announcer says that this game is turning into a rout. I think, tell me something I didn't know - and the announcer did just that: the Aggies lead the Longhorns 37-12. I damn near had a wreck.

The other time this happened was 2014 when the Ags went to #3 ranked Auburn and I went to see Interstellar instead.

Bottom line, I need to see more movies (although hopefully they will be more in line with Interstellar's greatness than Supergirl's ****tiness).

It sounds like every time you go to a movie on gameday, the ags pull off a wild one. Should get a little Go Fund Me pool going to test this theory for the upcoming season.

Problem is, most movies these days are just not of interest to me. But to be fair, I have no idea what is coming out between August 31 and the first week of December, other than a sequel to Wicked (which I have never seen and never will, so therefore will never see that sequel either).

Downton Abby in mid September and Running Man in November may fit the bill here. That should cover Notre Dame and tu.

Running Man, yeah, I might have interest in that.

We all have to make sacrifices, and you seeing movies you don't care about to ensure Aggie wins is one that I am willing for you to make.

My second listen to the Superman score this morning. The new theme is growing on me, and I love the subtle inclusion of John Williams' original theme in there.
