Saw it over the weekend. I had high expectations based on what I'd heard and read. I expected an A, but came away thinking B-. Just felt really disjointed, a bit hollow and like they tried to pack too much into it. Kind of a master of none level quality to it. I'd recommend seeing it, but it's not the must see at the theaters type of quality I was hoping for.

I agree. This was a pretty big change from the interpretation that we are used to in live action but my grandparents were Kansas farmers and they would interact in a very similar way. And the scene with Clark and his dad brings a lot of humanity to them as parents which I thought was one of the best scenes in the film
