The Bud Light and Jaguar ads were designed to thumb their noses at their existing customer base and reach new demographics. Bud Light was trying to convince woke Gen Zs to drink cheap horse piss beer when we know full well they reach for something else when they want to relax. I think Jaguar's business model was just about dead anyway. Maybe they will be able to sell pastel-colored, funky-shaped $250,000 EVs to coast elites., who knows.

The American Eagle ads were targeted straight at their existing demographic - namely upper-middle-class suburban teens, and yes white - and giving them exactly what they want.

That's the thing that always cracks me up about woke liberal boycotting something based on their ad or based on their lack of LGBTQ pandering. It's NEVER a product or company they already support or really in the target demo for that product or company and it therefore has little or no effect.


But the woke ads companies try to use to lure those demographics often specifically alienates their established customer base and thats why those boycotts have an actual effect like Bud sales tanking. It changes the behavior of those customers. And doesn't lure the intended audience or at least not enough to compensate for the losses.


Same with shows and movies going woke. They just alienate really more than half of the possible customer base.

Libs are just so miserable and boring. My wife and I crack racial/cultural jokes at each other all the time. Our kids are even worse than we are. Most of it is self-deprecating by far, which I'm sure Eilish was doing as well.
