We could all take a few lessons from Tanya's book. She argued what she believed and not what someone told her to believe, she didn't mind admitting she had changed her mind on an issue, and she loved her son more than anything. I hope someday to be able to do half as well at those things.

Didn't always agree with Tanya but I always appreciated her humor and her candor across the numerous forums she frequented on here. She was an institution. Her own person comfortable with expressing a unique perspective even if it went against the prevailing ones around here and just as comfortable with the differing perspectives around her.

Tanya, you will be missed. They may not know it yet, but you will be missed by those on here irritated by you the most. Perhaps some of us that have been around here as long or almost as long, will be able to Tanya up a thread every now and again in your honor.

Sorry to hear this. We most definitely had our disagreements, and she could be frustrating at times (as I'm sure I was to her).

But the lesson here is that those were all words, rhetoric if you will. Sure, I believe what I believe and I'll not only stand for it, I'll argue it. After all that, they are still mostly still words and rhetoric -- and little more. If you treat people right and do good things for others, who you vote for is down the list (if its even on it) -- and sometimes we forget that.

Since I can't say one "here" when 350 more words will do (in spite of what I SHOULD often do), I'll say this: Tanya, you were loved. By me and by, it appears, many on this forum. I'm sorry I didn't express that before your passing. You, especially, as well as your contributions to this forum will be missed.

I've never met Tanya. I never engaged w Tanya on here. Always thought her posts were thoughtful and sometimes quirky. My first thought when I saw this thread was about Benny. How you can "know" someone for 20 something years and never have met them....

Met her and Will at Olsen long before it was Blue Bell and long before I realized who they were on TexAgs.

A treat of a person who I have fond memories with at plenty of baseball games. One of the few people I met that was the same person IRL as they were online. Those who enjoyed her here would've enjoyed her in the real world.

Remember well when I first met Tanya here on F16. Molly Ivins had just passed away and we had very different opinions on her brand of political humor. That was 18 years ago. She was an icon and she will be missed.
