I had a flight into Houston yesterday morning that got to about 300' before bailing. Ended up in San Antonio to refuel. It was, not fun.

The local met said that the escarpment west of I35 breaks down a lot of storms due to the downslope as you head from west to east.

Yeah, you can't see it without zooming in on that map, but there are two gauges almost on top of each other, and the one that is hidden had 3.47"

Been getting good, solid rain almost 2 hours. Hoping for an inch or two by morning. We need a few more weeks of this to be a drought buster, but thank the Lord for what we're getting. I've almost forgotten what this was like.

6" so far! Maybe a little too much now. Landscaping around our playground collapsed under the weight of all the water. I have a few yards of mulch on the other end of the backyard now. Gonna be real busy the next couple days

Looking at another 3-5 hours of moderate to heavy rain. We may get 8"-10" or more. Luckily we're on the edge of the Edwards recharge zone and I think a lot of the rain and flooding west of us are even closer. Hopefully this fills it up a bit. God knows we need it and enough is coming down.
