Just to repeat a post above about the official resale site for the Savannah Bananas, https://gobananas.fansfirsttickets.com/login -- what is great about it is that the tickets on it are sold at exactly their original MSRP. No massive markup like on the other ticketing websites. Some of the other websites are showing Zone Club, Legacy Club, etc. tickets for insane prices -- the ones here are just the original price. Thank you for the link!

It's going to be a traffic nightmare.
Like 4-5 things going on in the same area at the same time.
I hope I did not offend anybody with this post. If I did, please come see me at my address in my profile so we can talk.

For those of you interested, some of the players have a sandlot revival ministry. They will host this at Central church in Bryan on Friday night at 7. Supposed to be a great evening of praise and worship and player testimonials.

I was at the Warehouse yesterday and they had a Bananas hat behind the counter and I heard a manager telling a sales clerk that there were a bunch in the back but that they were not to be put out on the floor and could be sold only if someone asked for one. Thought that was odd.

Wow, $150 - $250, I missed the mark on that one!

Maybe I'm getting old but I'm starting to feel like the whole world has gone stupid. $200-$300+ per person after parking, food, drinks. And a waiting list to do it. Are people just that hungry for entertainment? Spend all week stuck in the office so willing spend big to go watch some guys dance around for a couple hours?

Right now, we've spent about $75/person. Kids will get shirts but not us. We'll spend less on concessions than we do for either football or baseball. There is very little chance we'll hit $200/person.

And my kids will be over the moon happy.

Maybe stock for on-site sales?

From Facebook

The First Ever Banana Ball Pop Up Game That's right, we're playing a game TONIGHT at Navasota High School in Navasota, TX.

Now open to fans, this game will be first come, first served. The first 1,000 fans will get entry into the game. Once capacity has been hit, all parking lots will close and no other fans will be able to enter. But the fantastic BTV crew will be broadcasting live at 7pm CT on the Banana Ball YouTube channel for free.

Well here is why they are hiding the hats! We received an "official" email from Bananas today regarding "unauthorized" vendors so I bet the Warehouse falls in that category.

Quote:

Watch out for Fake Merchandise & Unauthorized Street Vendors! We've seen an increase in unauthorized vendors selling fake Banana Ball merch. These items are poor quality, illegally use our logos, and can put fans at risk when buying from them. The only way to score authentic Banana Ball gear is from our official tents located in the stadium or links we share in emails!

If you can't join us early, we'll have locations throughout the entire ballpark during the game to get you lookin' right. We'll have hats, shirts and jerseys galore. However, we suggest shopping early!

We paid $40/ea for tickets and will bring a bottle of water. Snacks will be in the cargo pants pockets as I don't buy the overpriced crap @ Kyle Field. So 3 people will cost exactly $120.

Aggie Park starting at 2 PM tomorrow and 10 AM Saturday for their official gear.

The Warehouse and Aggieland Outfitters are also selling Banana ball themed stuff.

Does anyone know the food situation on Saturday, especially for people getting there earlier in the day? Will there be food trucks or other food vendors? Concessions only? What's it lookin' like?

Interesting. I didn't even see shirts there. And the hat I saw sucked. It was just a black hat that said BANANAS on it in huge white block letters.

ETA: Maybe they are hiding them because it's terrible.

I watched the pop-up game at Navasota HS on their Youtube channel. Enjoyed it. The teams were having fun. The crowd was having fun. You can really tell they take their 'Fans First' motto very seriously. I could see the players, cast, and Jesse very active in the stands.

Can't wait to see the contrast between their playing at their smallest venue today versus their largest on Saturday.

And while attendance was free so they said they said they didn't make any money with this inaugural pop-up game, the amount of merch I saw in the stands shows that this was definitely a positive ROI for the them.

Kudos for them for rejecting advertising, keeping ticket prices reasonable, and focusing on the fan experience.

I'm half-embarrassed to admit this, but we hit up multiple stores this week in search of the perfect Banana merch. The CC Creations Warehouse has the best selection. They have probably 15 different designs of t-shirts, almost all of which are unique to the upcoming Kyle Field event. They also had 2.5 ft. long banana hats (we passed on those) and yellow Banana towels (like 12th Man towels). Best designs, best selection.

Aggieland Outfitters had probably four different t-shirt designs that kind of sucked, a couple of which were specific to this event.

Rally House only had two or three designs that were just generic Bananas merch. Lame. Academy may have had some too, but we didn't check there.

To each their own but the Bananas are the Globetrotters 2.0 to me. I just don't see the obsession people have with it. I'd rather go to a real ballgame. In fairness I also don't like Pro Wrestling so now you know what type of person I am.

But they're not. Yes, some of the stuff is scripted but the actual play isn't. I highly recommend watching Bananaland.

I've noticed a trend of baseball purists and elitists hating on the Bananas, not only on this board but on FB. The Bananas are the biggest thing in sports right now. A lot of that reason is because it is not a typical sport and it connects with a whole new audience, and it also connects with those who do love baseball and understand that these guys really are true athletes.

It's really hard to hate on something as pure and wholesome as Banana Ball. Lord knows they treat their fans better than any college or pro team, that's for sure. They keep bucking the system on how things are done, and they keep winning.

They have:
1. Fair prices, and created their own resale website to kill the scalper industry.
2. No sponsors whatsoever
3. Family friendly entertainment
4. All their games are free to watch online or on ESPN sometimes
5. They created their own non-profit for Foster kids: Bananas Foster
6. The list goes on and on

I think some people think it's cool to hate on something because its different, but like someone said...they sound like a stick in the mud.

The reality is....there is more hype and more money being spent on the Bananas this weekend than all of the other sports playing. They might even make more money for the city this weekend than some football weekends.

Anyhow...rant over...Go Bananas
