The jet alone was $250,000. While we were yachting, the jet and crew waited in Rome for us. The yacht was massive, with a full crew including kitchen staff and chef. It alone was at least $200,000, not including diesel, which they keep track of.

I've had the personal customs experience as well but in military aircraft unfortunately. Probably not the same white glove experience. A Canadian customs dude got a bit of an attitude once and suspiciously said "I've seen a lot of Marines come through here but I've never seen you". I said "That's weird because I've been to Canada before and I've never seen you."

I do smaller trips and usually 1 or 2 bigger trips throughout the year, and I don't spend anywhere near that because of points. I could easily see it. We spent $8K+ on a long weekend trip stateside. You can always find high end enough places to get you to that number.

Same ole rootbeer here in London, downing champagne in my private lounge in Heathrow.

This is my first time flying the "residence" on Etihad. The 3 room apartment in the sky on Etihad. Super impressed with the service so far. You get your own private check in, passport control, and security search and then get taken straight to your own private lounge, literally just for me.

It was only an $800 up charge from first class and it looks to be well worth it for a 7 hour flight.

It was only an $800 upgrade [from my $20K first class base ticket].
