Reed said he's at 182, looking to play at 187. We all wanted to see him get significantly bigger this offseason and it doesn't look like that happened. Should this be a real concern?

Why is his weight a concern. Does anyone have any actual data of the pros and cons of a QBs weight? I've watched football a long time and don't think I can say that an extra 10 lbs has ever actually helped a quarterbackaggieland28 said:

I miss the days when our QBs looked SEC ready.

is it his throwing motion or his feet that won't stay on the ground when he releases the ball?

I think 187 will be fine to play at. He looked like he barely cracked 160 last year.

He has a pretty pronounced flash when he releases the ball.
Not as bad as he did when he was in high school, but it's still bad.
Pretty detrimental to accuracy.

I don't think it's a concern. We probably all wish he was 220 and kept the same speed and elusiveness but that's not his body type. Think Reggie McNeal. He couldn't gain weight either. Some genetics just don't allow for it. I think what he should be focused on is not taking unnecessary hits. Focus on picking up the sticks and getting down. I'm much more interested in his arm strength and accuracy than his weight.

Reed's weight is way overblown on texags
What will determine how he does is how accurate he is
And if he makes his reads and goes through his progressions correctly
