Wonder if they are going to let Scott Woodward hire the coach? ( Jimbo-Kelly. 130 mil in buyouts. )
Can't believe i'm defending woodward, but jimbo's original contract wasn't the issue. It was the stupid extension signed by bjork.

Why is the Canes guy calling the shots? He is a grad of UGA. Although Canes is HQ in BR
He almost made the playoff. And wasn't his fault we didn't. It wasn't stupid . Feel free to research how we got rid of Jimbo and how the contract was modified to allow that.Farmer_J said:CoachLB said:

Dave Aranda and he'll be cheap.....something LSU can afford. Has LSU background, previous experience, knows the system, hits the ground running.

Some Thoughts: on Why big Names will come to LSU
1. LSU is a 10 top job in the US.
2. They have donors basically signing up to commit to roughly $100M over time.
3. Louisiana has lots of D1 talent and especially on the Off. & Def. lines. - Key for SEC teams.
4. When winning, they have a crazy fan base.

The LSU job needs someone with swagger, head coaching experience, and a mild criminal record.
Kevin Sumlin is available.

LOL….coaching is a job. No one forgoes millions of dollars for "familiarity, comfort, and less job pressure". Get real.schmellba99 said:texag101 said:Key makes $4.5M this year. He'd make millions more at LSU. With that kind of money differential, it doesn't matter where you played football.ATL Aggie said:Tex117 said:
Key and Dillingham...I don't know about them staying. The LSU job is a big step up.
BUT, in this era of NIL, there is more to the calculous.
I dont see Key going anywhere. Yes the job pays a lot more and is a "step up". But, he was a 4 year starter at GT. He doesnt seem like the kind of guy that is going to leave just for a larger paycheck. Maybe I am wrong.
He has GT in the top 10 right now, and there is a whole lot to be said for familiarity, comfort and not having the pressure that he would get at swamp tigger.
Odds are he gets a raise this year anyway, and not everybody out there is doing nothing but chasing dollars.

LSU is a big name and a big job. To think otherwise is crazy.
