YT has the only streaming UI that I like. I've tried 3 others and hated it.

The NFL, which will own 10% of ESPN, should lean hard on both parties, now.

All I'm saying is that the fact that this is forcing people to completely change tv providers to watch sports gives me the sense that Disney has way too much power in the market.

I would bet that almost no one below the age of 50 is watching live TV outside of sports. At this point, live programming is there simply so people know when to record something that they might want to watch.

Do we know the contract status Disney has with the other streaming services? My concern would be that I switch and 3 months down the road, this same thing happens to a different streaming service.

Disney does this every year, during the football season, with one major provider. They are on rotating contract expirations. So if you change now, you're just going to be chasing providers every year.

Sit tight. They will come to an agreement soon. YTTV will cave, just as every other provider has each year for the same reason that Disney does this. They have all the leverage.

No provider can stay in business if they are unable to provide ESPN channels and every other channel owned by Disney. They just can't compete without them and Disney knows it.

Agree. My two kids, young adults, haven't watched live TV in years. One watches YouTube vids almost exclusively with some Netflix thrown in. The other is a gamer and chess player and rarely watches anything anymore.

If all you need is Bravo, just subscribe to the Bravo streaming app.
For sports, you do the espn fox sports streaming app, peacock for nbc sports and paramount plus for cbs sports (or maybe they have a cbs sports streaming app)

One too many. You get Bravo through Peacock.

Peacock
Paramount
Fox/ESPN

...but may drop the last one and ty Fubo on trial for the weekend especially if I get multiview

I saw on reddit a comment saying many YouTubeTV customers have a $10/month for 6 months discount offer. I checked and it was there for me.

You access the offer by managing your subscriptions (go all the way to the page where you would normally cancel). I think you have to do this on Windows - not sure if it would be accessible on a TV/Roku/Amazon Fire app.

I figure in the worst case if this drags on they have just paid me enough to keep YouTubeTV and get an alternative way to access ESPN/ABC free.

I think the best way I can help YTTV is to not cancel or take any predatory offers. Oh, and fornicate pissney.

I paused my account for 12 months. But I don't have that offer, which does not motivate me to restart it.

Ideal scenario...
Some platform that has all sports content for football, basketball, baseball for a flat fee of $30-$50 per month. No other programming included. Get local programming OTA (w/ optional DVR).
Select streaming services...Hulu, Disney, Netflix, Apple TV+

I feel like I have way more subscriptions than I can even find time to use. Feels wasteful.

Disneys greed is getting out of hand and with that said Sling tv has a daily, weekend and weekly way to stream the games. I might be doing this because I don't want to switch to one of the other providers that is owned by Disney.

Give me two competing companies that can annoy me... As opposed to one monopoly that pisses me off

Why not just cancel rather than pause? You don't lose any of your settings/recordings when you cancel, and you won't have to worry about it automatically renewing when you reach the end of the 12 months.

Because you would be helping Disney. YTTV is the largest streamer, and Disney is trying to use them to establish a new price and terms level, with which they would then F every other provide next time.

NFL, and their advertisers still require eyes on the game.

I think everyone understands what Disney is trying to do.

Pausing or Canceling involves not paying for YTTV either way. But if you pause, you will have to remember to cancel if you don't want to start paying for it again in 12 months.

They won't get the highest bidder if they restrict carriage profitability. You're just mad.

They are restricting their product. Stupid.

The NFL Network that's on YouTubeTV?

Disney paid for the exclusive rights. Why would the NFL take that away? Disney paid a YUGE amount for that!

Watching MNF OTA.

If you don't have an antennae and have Amazon Prime, Amazon has a live tv option now.

Has several ABC affiliates available.

I'm not mad. Watching on sling one day pass. Sling is owned by Dish which is being acquired by DirecTV. At least I'm not supporting Disney owned streaming companies.

Bit of a tease though. Their "live tv" content is mostly recorded content and you still aren't going to be able to watch any sports that Disney owns.

My ABC channel on Prime is just showing local news.

You're right. I checked it and mine is doing the same.

However, they have something they are calling NFL Live. But, it is more like a game cast w/ stats taking up 1/3 of the screen.

This is the best answer. You can't buy a couple of hot dogs for 5 bucks.

Even if they take 3 weeks to figure it out, which they probably won't, it costs you a total of 15 bucks. And yttv is going to refund you 20.

And if we play on ESPNU or Sec network, you can add them for an entire dollar.
