Decent timing for us with a bye week, but what is happening and what are our contingencies?

It would be peak Aggie to have the most success we've had since the early 90s and also not be able to watch them on TV…for an entirely different reason.

YT TV sucks. Not sure why anyone cares. Much better options. Simply change your subscription! DONE. EASY.

It doesn't geolock your account. You have five devices streaming anywhere at the same time.... so if you own multiple properties and don't want multiple subscriptions it is great. UI is also better than Hulu and other options.

South Florida game is on YouTube right now.

I tried watching games on YouTube last Saturday. I was able to watch some AAC/ACC games later in the day, but SEC games were shut down quickly.

Good to know. I guess i will try the early SEC game and if it works run with it, if not, look for alternative.

I was also able to watch the Vandy game on my iphone somehow. Just went to espn app and clicked the watch button. The first three times it told me i was not able to watch but the fourth time i tried it worked.
Nothing looks more foolish than tradition to those who have none.

They are shut down because it's illegal.

I would guess the ones you watched were not also being broadcast on a Disney owned network. Looking back, most of them weren't.

Which option is better? I've had Hulu+Live and it sucks ass as far as the UI.

For the sip game, every stream I tried on YouTube was eventually shut down. I gave up.

My daughter wanted to watch the New York marathon. We eventually found a stream on YouTube that stayed up. It was of an Italian sports network. Commercials were better too. Sadly probably not an option for college football

For those familiar with the Sling 1 day pass, can we watch the game tomorrow on ESPN 3 with it (since it's on ABC)?

I called YTTV and told them I wasn't paying for espn twice this month. Told them that as a customer I shouldn't be caught in a pissing contest between 2 multi billion dollar companies to point where I'm paying for certain channels twice.

They refunded my last month's pmt

Will keep till next billing cycle and reassess

According to the internet, yes, ESPN3 is included.

Regarding the Sling Day Pass, this is such a total hack. Here is the math on it:

Sling Day Pass:
- 19 weeks of college football (includes the playoff) = $102.63 including tax

YouTube TV:
- 1 month = $89.84 * 6 months = $539.04

Hulu Live:
- 1 month = $97.41 * 6 months = $584.46

If you have either YTTV and Hulu Live and you really only watch live sports with heavy emphasis on college football, then paying for YTTV or Hulu Live is financially stupid. You can buy the entire season of college football with Sling Day passes for about the same cost as one month of either YTTV and Hulu Live.

As soon as force my wife to agree with me, I'm cancelling YTTV and will just be using Sling Day Passes going forward. My new digital antenna is also supposed to arrive today and assuming that works I may not even be buying Sling Day passes every weekend.

This is 100% the conclusion I reached last weekend.
Been thinking about canceling YTTV anyway because if the price and the fact that I really don't watch much TV. This dispute just made the decision a lot easier.

No. Sling Day Pass includes Sling Orange channels. See here: Day Pass by Sling TV: Watch Live TV for a Day, No Contract | Sling TV

However, the internet tells me that you could use your Sling creds to sign directly into the ESPN app and still see the games being broadcast on ABC there since ABC/ESPN are usually simulcast there.

Someone that has actually done this would need to confirm if possible.

The Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited package is $29.99 mo, so $179.94 for 6 months. This is a great option especially if you have Disney+ or regular Hulu already, or if you want to watch ESPN more than 1 day a week.

Will be trying the Sling day pass as I only really watch football each saturday.

I'm kind of in the same boat with my GF. I let her use my account and she watches Hallmark and local channels. If not for her, I would cancel it and do what you posted: get day passes with Sling.

I should buy her a digital antennae for Christmas. That takes care of the local stuff. Then tell her she is on her own for Hallmark.

I watch mostly YouTube now with a premium subscription: history, documentaries, engineering and tech stuff, etc...

I just hooked my (rabbit ears) antenna back up, and ABC comes in perfectly. I will not need to buy anything extra for this weekend's game. If this goes on beyond this weekend, we may cancel YTTV and find something else because weekend passes will not get us all the football and college basketball we want.

For me, it's really the DVR that keeps me with YTTV. I love college football but don't have the time to sit and watch all the games that I used to. However, what I can do it spend late Saturday evening watching "Key Plays" from all the recorded games and picking my spots to spend time. Allows me to be selective about where I spend my limited amount of college football watching.

So, I'll just find a work around for the Aggie game but will have a hard time leaving YTTV assuming this is settled at some point…

This is where I am. I'm currently doing YTTV with the Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+ package at $19.99 per month. I can upgrade to the Hulu/Disney+/ESPN Unlimited for $29.99 per month. That's $10 extra for a month's worth of football and basketball....which would be only 2 days using Sling day pass. I'll just go back to the ESPN+ package when/if this ever gets settled.

They are shut down because it's illegal.

Maybe you enjoy being bent over. The only reason what these companies are doing isn't illegal is because they payoff the powers in Washington to turn the other cheek.

90 bucks a month and hours of commercials. Pick a business model and go with it. Don't double dip and expect customers to stick around. Work out your business deals without fn your customers.

ESPN is the worse of the two. I could not care less about how many people are sticking it to them by watching illegal streams. They have it coming.

Who pays $90 every month? Doesn't everyone just sign up for the promotional "first 3 months at $50" rate and then cancel when the season is over?

For a pure sports nut, I think the ESPN+Fox package is superior, but yes that's also a good cheaper, la carte option. Also $30 but then you get any sports on Fox as well and then you actually get FNC, Fox Weather, and Fox Business along with it. Thus, this package gets you all the sports plus a side dish of news and weather. I realize some people won't care about FNC, but the weather and business options are a nice value add.

Just signed up for Direct TV Streaming App. Been great so far! MUCH more variety. And, since my DIRECTV subscription includes ESPN, I was eligible for ESPN Unlimited at no extra cost. Doubt I will be going back to YTTV, even if they settle the issue.
