If Ohio St loses to Michigan and we win out then yes we should be number 1.

One of the talking heads said the "eye test" with Texas A&M is seeing how they struggled against ND and Arkansas. Compared to Ohio St that has hasn't needed high scoring offense to win but can control the clock and keep their opponent offense off the field.
So being punished for winning a game on the road as the lower ranked team and in a shoot out against one the top offenses in the nation who always plays the Aggies tough.

Osu hasn't played anyone with a pulse yet. What asinine statement.

As long as there is subjectivity in deciding playoff spots and seedings, the table will always be tilted in some programs' favor. It's unjust and it plain sucks, but all A&M can do is keep winning games.

Aggies win out.
Ohio State lose to Michigan.
Indiana lose to Ohio State.

Aggies #1
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Looking at the playoff bracket, if it were today and we swapped with Indiana, we would be playing the winner of tu and Ole Miss as opposed to the winner of Tech and Miami. I like our current matchup better.

Exactly. To be honest, none of this matters and isn't worth getting worked up about. It is annoying because the committee's reasoning literally makes no sense, but the draw of tech or Miami is way better than Ol Miss.

Still a long ways to go and we'll be either 1 or 2 if we go undefeated in the regular season. And 4 or 5 or 6 with a loss against tu?

I think that's the problem. If we get minimal credit already, we will be punished hard for any loss

Exactly right.

And as I've seen stated, if any other SEC team had our resume. If Indiana had our resume, they'd be number 1.

Yes we will all end up playing to win the championship but it does not justify how things are currently being done with very poor reasoning and minimal evidence

Some folks on the committee have an agenda, but let the games play out. The ball won't lie.

But the refs will.

Another thing to consider, the committee has already excluded our big win away game against Mizzou because of injuries.

I guarantee you that they will ding us hard if we have any injuries

The Aggies would be number one but...

Anybody mention that we are without our most important offensive player and maybe the best RB in the SEC?

We have always known college football is rigged. Nothing has changed.

We have every right to be considered number 1. Without question number 2. Indiana was LUCKY to win against a bad Penn St team and we demolished Mizzou at Mizzou.

They effed up big by having a Baylor AD be the chair of the CFP
I don't think your use of the word "right" has meaning in this context unless you meant we are entitled in which case you don't have any substantiation of the notional entitlement.

Does that mean this is a good process? No. But don't make it worse by using poor reasoning to fail in attacking it.

And, of course, Kiffin is right. What else does Texas A&M need to do to be ranked No. 1? The Aggies have the No. 1 strength of record, a supposedly critical stat for the committee. A&M has five wins vs. FPI top-35 teams; Ohio State has four. A&M's best win is vs. No. 9 Notre Dame. Ohio State's is vs. No. 10 Texas. A&M has played the 15th-toughest schedule so far (per ESPN's metrics), while Ohio State has played the 41st.

Ultimately, the difference between being the top seed and the No. 3 seed is minimal, and given that Ohio State and Indiana will likely face off in a Big Ten title game, odds are the Aggies will enter the postseason at No. 2. No harm done, really. But it's the principle of the thing

At least its transparent and fair.

I would like to see the BCS rankings with the margin of victory added back into the calculations.

Yes they will have to meet up in conference title game. Luckily for us Bama will refuse to go to Atlanta and we will get the win via forfeit.

the most disappointing thing...

is the realization that the committee is just waiting, waiting for the Ags to drop a game so they can push A&M down to the #7 or #8 seed

That's my biggest problem here too. The current matchups are great as I don't like our matchup with Ol Piss.

But these biases are bull***** They always favor certain teams and find excuses to screw other teams out of a shot. I'm actually rooting for no upsets so that texas will drop out after the Georgia loss. It'll be just their "luck" that other 2 loss teams get screwed so a 3 loss texas team gets in.

I believe Alabama and t.u. are the only teams in the top 20 with a loss to a team with a losing record

doesn't matter though -- not at all

But not a 4- loss tu. They would get left out and laghed at.

If the committee is just waiting to drop us out of the top four with a loss, then it doesn't matter if they sees us 2 or 3. They can drop us out just as easily from either position. They have already shown that they don't care about having any logic to their explanations.

It's not supposed to matter, but you have to wonder if the Committee is subconsciously trying to avoid matchups between conference teams, especially among the top 4 seeds. Look for them to keep a Big 10 team at 1 and SEC at 4 and one of each at 2 and 3. Of course, in this scenario, it doesn't matter whether TAMU and IU are 2 or 3. They would still play each other in the semifinals and the same for OSU and Alabama. Needless to say, there will likely be considerable reshuffling over the next few weeks, particularly after the Big 10 and SEC championship games. But, in any case, I expect the committee to try to avoid inta-conference and repeat matchups. That just makes sense to optimize fan interest.

Which team had a more difficult game last week? Texas A&M vs Miz w/3rd string QB , no best offensive weapon and missing 2 defensive starters or Indiana vs Penn St no Big Ten wins and a lame duck coach?

Penn St was also missing their starting QB. A little fact the playoff committee and other talking heads fail to mention.

There is clearly an agenda against A&M and I'd bet money the Baylor AD is leading it, but all we can do is win and not give them the excuse they crave to leave us out.

The weird part is the tessus love though. You wouldnt think the Baylor boy who also has a degree from Indiana wouldn't be so high on them.

I will say it ks quite amusing though that national news is putting him, ESPN and the CFP through the ringer though
