If Ohio St loses to Michigan and we win out then yes we should be number 1.

Looking at the playoff bracket, if it were today and we swapped with Indiana, we would be playing the winner of tu and Ole Miss as opposed to the winner of Tech and Miami. I like our current matchup better.

Exactly. To be honest, none of this matters and isn't worth getting worked up about. It is annoying because the committee's reasoning literally makes no sense, but the draw of tech or Miami is way better than Ol Miss.
Still a long ways to go and we'll be either 1 or 2 if we go undefeated in the regular season. And 4 or 5 or 6 with a loss against tu?

Exactly right.

Some folks on the committee have an agenda, but let the games play out. The ball won't lie.
I don't think your use of the word "right" has meaning in this context unless you meant we are entitled in which case you don't have any substantiation of the notional entitlement.TAMUallen said:
We have every right to be considered number 1. Without question number 2. Indiana was LUCKY to win against a bad Penn St team and we demolished Mizzou at Mizzou.
They effed up big by having a Baylor AD be the chair of the CFP

And, of course, Kiffin is right. What else does Texas A&M need to do to be ranked No. 1? The Aggies have the No. 1 strength of record, a supposedly critical stat for the committee. A&M has five wins vs. FPI top-35 teams; Ohio State has four. A&M's best win is vs. No. 9 Notre Dame. Ohio State's is vs. No. 10 Texas. A&M has played the 15th-toughest schedule so far (per ESPN's metrics), while Ohio State has played the 41st.
Ultimately, the difference between being the top seed and the No. 3 seed is minimal, and given that Ohio State and Indiana will likely face off in a Big Ten title game, odds are the Aggies will enter the postseason at No. 2. No harm done, really. But it's the principle of the thing

the most disappointing thing...
is the realization that the committee is just waiting, waiting for the Ags to drop a game so they can push A&M down to the #7 or #8 seed

Which team had a more difficult game last week? Texas A&M vs Miz w/3rd string QB , no best offensive weapon and missing 2 defensive starters or Indiana vs Penn St no Big Ten wins and a lame duck coach?

There is clearly an agenda against A&M and I'd bet money the Baylor AD is leading it, but all we can do is win and not give them the excuse they crave to leave us out.
