Can't say I'm happy with Slots lineup choices today. I think he has disrespected the opponent and got us in a bit of trouble.

Plymouth may not have the same skill level, but they have some big boys on a tiny pitch. Reminds me of the way the Dynamo played at Robertson Field back in the day: Pack the final 3rd with big players, take away passing lanes, force the opposition into unfavorable long balls and try to grab a goal from a free kick.

We definitely need to get Jones and Darwin in the game to match their physicality. It's going to take an ugly goal to win this one.

Slot definitely overplayed the rotation and potentially gonna cost us. Terrible lineup that has done nothing and the kids are completely not ready for this.

Slot said post game Jones told him this morning he wasn't 100% and couldn't go. Said that was tough and then when Gomez went down it doubled up the youth with those 2 out. But he said no excuses, still had enough quality to have a better result. Doesn't sound serious for Jones, but Gomez doesn't look good obviously.

Just shows again how hard it is to win all these tournaments. You had to beat Spurs on Thursday to get to final of Carabou Cup, 3 days later play this FA game, makeup Everton game in 3 more days on Wed and then Wolves a few days later. If that Everton game didn't have to be rescheduled Slot could have had less rotation with a week off before the Wolves game.

So while disappointed, I get it and this is worth a sacrifice if you had to have one. Slot said before game the FA was last priority with everything they were after and obviously so.

I'm always in favor of winning over losing, but I'm not broken up about being in one less competition. Good for Plymouth.

Still not happy with Slots decisions, but they make sense in the grand scheme of things. More disappointed that Chiesa and Elliot were catastrophically bad given their lack of opportunities. This was their opportunity to shine and all they did was make Mo and VVD more money.

Sure, it sucks to lose and Slot put out a weak team, but if we were to lose, it was pretty cool that it was to Plymouth.

With 4 games in 11 days and 5 games in 14 by the time we play Everton on Wednesday (it's even more nuts if you go back further), the full week of rest later in the season when we'd be playing an FA Cup 5th round match will feel really, really nice. We've essentially been playing every 3-4 days since before Christmas. I'm thankful we aren't even more injured to be honest.

To compare, Arsenal is having a winter training camp in Dubai and will have had 9 full days of rest by the time they play again this weekend.

Fresh legs for the run in will be huge. Bad result, but not so bad for what our ultimate goal is.
