I really don't know what is going to happen with this anymore. It's clear that Alisson is still the worlds best GK when healthy, and sure, you might miss him every year for a month or so, but are you really going to kick a GK like that to the curb because you don't have him for a handful of games a year? I'd bet they keep Alisson until his contract is up and simply mix Mamardashvilli more than they have Kelleher. Mamardashvilli is also only 24.
It's a good problem to have. They bought Mama precisely because of the injury issue and to provide competition for Ali with Mama being the long term option after Alisson. But we lose that match with any other keeper in the world. Alisson is under contract through 2026 with a club option for another year. They've got to manage this correctly because Kelleher is likely gone this Summer and I could see Mama causing some issues if he's not #1.

My one gripe about slot is that he simple does not rotate enough, and idc that he might not trust some guys. You cannot play this number of games across four competitions in a season and played 13-14 guys. You've got to be able to play 15-17.

Agree with all of this. Taking the other side of the argument, this is the effect of not signing anyone but Chiesa for an entire calendar year. Not really sure what it is that Edwards has been doing for the last year, but this summer will obviously be a big one.I really hope Slot is given a lot of input to go get guys he is comfortable with.
