They can use all the technology they want. There is still a margin of error with all technology that for some reason we just don't acknowledge anymore because the technology we use has the letters "AI" in front of it and people pitch it and use it as if it's 100% accurate. That .25mm movement of the ball .025 ms before the ball was kicked easily falls into that margin of error. That movement could easily not have been caused by actual direct contact with the ball.

It's similar to when we say "oh, he's clearly offside" when the offside camera shows that the nub of his elbow is off. When the margins are that small, they are absolutely within the margin of error that your technology is based on. The technology can not identify the exact moment the ball leaves the passers foot at the molecular level (which is effectively what we are going towards) nor should it.

Until Alvarez's ruling (which was correct, you can see the unnatural flight of the ball), RM hasn't gotten a beneficial call this entire season. Plus, that comment's from the resident Barca fan, and we all know how favorable the refs treat that club.
