When I was there against Sam Houston yesterday, #5 Tessa Lavender, a freshman, seemed to get a serious blow to the head. They took her back to the locker room after a while. I hope she is doing OK.

I do not recall seeing that M*A*S*H episode but I looked up a summary on it. From the first paragraph:

Radar has decided to take a correspondence course on how to be a writer, and his first efforts are with the daily report, where we hear him adding all kinds of purple prose to what is supposed to be a military report. Col. Potter notices this and tells him that the daily report is not a place for "expressing yourself creatively."

I think "expressing yourself creatively." is what the writer of the Batt article on the second soccer match was doing and boy did it turn into a psychotic mess !!

I think the best comment on the 'article' in this thread was the one suggesting it was a soccer report mixed with My Little Pony dialogue run through AI !!

Regardless, now we move on to tougher opponents the rest of the Spring schedule: TCU, Texas Tech, Rice and Houston. Hopefully we can score at least one goal in each match. Maybe, just maybe, more than one.

Should we get excited about a transfer scoring a goal? Since all the former players left, a transfer almost HAS to score the goal by default. Meh, maybe I'm just cynical...

I understand cynical! Reasoning with mentioning a transfer scored the goal is that last year G brought in a bunch of transfers to 'finish chances' and score goals. But for the longest of time he did not start any of them nor even put many in in second halfs or late in matches. Since this goal WAS scored at the end of the match it makes me wonder how many transfers (or freshmen) he started. Recall that even though we lost the entire starting back line a lot of M's and F's did return.

Sure would like to see a starting lineup, at minimum. And a sub list, too. Would answer some of these thoughts.

But this IS just 'practice' - will have to wait until the regular season starts to see if he really does do the same thing as last year.

Was it a real goal or was some weak shot that beat the third string keeper

The mystery is intriguing and not having video just builds to the legacy

Great comment !! I saved that article for laughs in the future !!! The same writer wrote a report on a softball game next, was not as bad but still weird. Lots of spelling and grammar errors, too, so certainly does not use grammar and spell check.

I will check their soccer page a few times today and tomorrow, hoping there will be a writeup by the guy who wrote the one for Baylor because it was great.

I was hoping the Ags could score off a disciplined attack, but it was more off a mistake from TCU combined with a good hustle play by the Ags.

Ags put together a few nice attacks in the 2nd half with some good forward passing and crosses that didn't land in the back of the net.

Sounds like the offensive system regressed

It is the same Batt writer who wrote the now infamous soccer writeup. All of her articles are weird. I wrote the sports editor after the soccer article and included some of the worse sentences. The next article (softball) was still really weird but not as bad as the soccer article. But now I know if I need a 'what the heck?' laugh I can check out the person's articles.

Yes, same writer. After that soccer writeup was posted a while back, I explored some of her other works (including the one cited above). Haven't revisited them since.
