G making sure to blame the girls one last time. Then wonders why they all leave to actual contenders. That ladies and gentleman is the accountability from the highest paid coach in all of college soccer and the head soccer coach of our alma mater Texas A&M University. New players you better step up before you're thrown under the bus as well.

I actually thought we were the better team the entire first half and should've just put away one of our other chances early to completely change the game. Trinity is really good with the ball and will be elite if she can just be a bit better with her shot. I think the wind was actually a factor too as we didn't adjust to it and they got to the balls first in the second half when we were against the wind. I also thought the ball just kind of hung up there longer than our goalie expected on their goal, but man she made a good save earlier. Baylor goalie made an elite save to start the 2nd half. We have depth, but the starters showed better than the subs tonight. We need girls like Taylor to impact the game, either as a starter or a sub.

This really gives you perspective in what we lost and Calzada and Beccera didn't even play. 4 goals and an assist opening day for the players G put down for leaving. If these players would have stayed and we had a legit coach this team could have been competing for an SEC title this year. Until some major changes are made you are looking at a team who will be fighting each year just to make the last few spots in the SEC tournament.

Remember G's controversial post game presser last fall when he called the players "set-up artists" and said the finishers were injured (O'Rouke & yolinsky) and "they'd score a bunch of goals next season". Well after 1 night his prophecy looks true...except they're not scoring for us.

Doesn't beat when he legitimately said, we need to get some better players in the portal LOL or he said these girls are just soft… minutes after his girls just fought for 90 minutes

Then he has the nerve to say before yesterdays season opener, how dare people judge us after a bunch of girls who get tenth in the conference left… like that sounds like the most insecure, petty, and immature human being on this planet. Like an actual sports coach said that out loud. Yet we let him lead this program and pay him more than anyone else in the country…

Happy for Yolinski as she seems like a nice person and is a stud on the field. I think she would've gotten significant minutes at A&M this year too, but a new start after being injured all year might be what she needed. Similar for Cornog as she certainly would've played similar minutes for us this year, but spoke pretty publicly about her health and maybe a fresh start was best for her too.

Interesting that Leb played center back for TCU after the spring transfer of TCU's center back to UCLA. I am sure she played great, but not sure she was going to displace Calzada or Matula at center back for us the last two years no matter who our coach was. Our defense the last two years was pretty highly thought of by everyone.

Was blown away by the O'Rourke when she was on the field for us in spring games last year and so disappointed that she didn't stay to play at A&M. She is elite from a scoring perspective, which every team needs.

Anyone know what Becerra and Calzada's injuries are and how long it will keep them out?

All that said, feels like it is time to move on with the players we have. We do have some good pieces and seems like some good chemistry, but have to find more ways to score.

TCU is known to emphasize soccer IQ and utilize players who have high pass completion percentages. That does not appear to be the criteria used by A&M for player selection over the last few years. As we see from G's comments this season, he is still all-in on bigger, stronger, faster---"fitness" is going to win games. The playing time and success of the players that left our program to go to better programs, regardless of where they are utilized on the field, should tell us something.

You say its time to move on, but its hard to do so when the same coach is still here coaching the same way and selecting lineups based on the same faulty criteria.

They tried placing the blame on Phil, but still seems like the same exact mentality and style of play. Just like we have been recently we are out of shape and just play kick ball and hope they don't score. I'm afraid of what talented teams are going to do to our inexperienced lineup.

Coach G should have retired a couple of years ago but money and his contract was his only goal despite poor recruiting and performance on the field.

I agree it's time for a change and I would be very surprised if one is not made after the season.

Additionally, it's great that some of our former players are doing really well with their new teams but the constant chatter about how great they are doing, how silly it was to get rid of them, etc. should also be on that thread, too.

This thread and this season's game threads should be about what is going on now.

Halftime 0-0. Announcers sayLamar is probably ecstatic and A&M needs to adjust. Man, what'a disappointing approach so far. Most of our ladies are hustling while some seem not willing to put in the effort. Very disappointing in my opinion and I freely admit I am not a knowledgeable soccer follower.
