Nobody is ready to move on. The lesson has not been learned by ownership. And the NBA league office - Silver could have rejected the trade. This needs to be a very public and visible black mark for the next couple of NBA seasons.
People are trying to smooth stuff over and fix the problem, to rehabilitate the franchise. In terms of the NBA, the Mavericks ownership and management committed capital murder, and prison time must be served. An organized boycott by the fans to financially paralyze ownership to the point they sell is the only way to move on.

I told myself I wouldn't watch the Mavs for as long as he was the GM, but now I might not be able to watch them because they are terrible.

Mavs don't control their own pick from 27-30, so you tank this season for the stacked 26 class. Trade AD for whatever you can get. Build around Flagg, Lively, Wash Gaff, Christie and the 26 pick and hope you land Darren Peterson and he is ready to go right away. But after this season, Mavs can't tank anymore.

Outside of Flagg, I'd be making and taking calls on the entire roster. Some are clearly more preferable to dump, but I'm listening on everyone

Gaff and Washington can't be traded anyway because of their extensions. But you need the solid role players for the team starting next year, and I think that Christie, Gaff, Lively, and PJ are great compliments to what you have in Flagg. If someone wants to overpay for one, sure it is worth considering.
Mavs can tank this year, but can't tank after that, so you need to have the roster somewhat in place for next season.

The trade came from the NBA. They want Luka in a premier franchise for ratings. We got Flagg in return and some favors down the line. I thought Nico did a good job for the most part before this.

They are part of the problem. Guess you don't remember PJ defending the trade saying "well we didn't win with Luka". He's a Nico guy first and fake "hombre " Kyrie too. You actually think Nico does this deal without consulting with his best remaining player? So naive. Need to get rid of all Nico minions and build around Flagg.

My point is that if it takes one of these younger guys becoming a part of a deal to get a bigger deal done, and said deal puts the roster in a better position overall vs just veteran firesale, you do it. No one untouchable except where the rules literally prevent it as you pointed out or Flagg. I'm listening to anything that might make my 2026 roster better in a sustainable manner. Some of those might need to involve someone not old and busted.
