Im not comfortable dogging Alvarez for what we don't know. The dude battled at the beginning of the season and obviously was a shell of himself playing with a broken hand. It's almost like an injury like that has a large effect on your ability to swing the bat well.

From what I can tell there is not a lot to do for his injury other than letting it heal completely. Im not sure what else folks expect him to do. He tries to come back and is still in pain. Do you want him to man up and play through the pain? Im sure you'll also be the one complaining when he is batting .210 with no power.

It overall sucks, but I have seen nothing that shows he doesn't want to get back. In fact, if he hadn't tried to come back too soon multiple times, maybe he'd already be back by now.

Yeah I'm calling BS and blaming Yordan. They admitted it was a broken bone in the process of healing. He should have said something earlier. Like in the off season.

I'm also reading between the lines with what little Dana has said and how he has said it. I think they are frustrated with him.

I think he's got 0 pain tolerance plus a lack of wanting to be up front at the beginning of all this.

Not sure this team makes the playoffs at this rate. Too bad at too many things, and the starting pitching is really starting to falter
we are on the road against a team also fighting for their lives, I swear if we don't sweep every game we are horrible. There are holes but every team has holes. The Yankees had a 6 game lead in the division a month ago and now are on the wild card bubble, we are still nearly 5 games clear in the playoffs, we just have to keep winning series

While I agree that we are too hard on these guys for not winning every game, this series was set up for us winning games 1 and 2 with our 2 aces versus a rookie and a dude coming off season long injury. Game 3 has been set up for us to lose with Fried going against our crap. We needed this game and Framber choked. That simple and why everyone is disappointed. If we can't win all Framber and Brown starts, we are screwed going forward.

Forget about Seattle, we are in serious jeopardy of Yanks and Cleveland catching us if we dont get this **** together soon

yes, the Guardians (60-55) are becoming a big problem. They are cutting away the Astros' (65-52) safety net for the playoffs in the event Seattle wins the West.

Cleveland also owns the tiebreaker

Have surgery or play. Stop this worthless "it's healed but I still don't feel good" thing. Like Paredes. That's the move.

yeah. 1000% agree. I made a joke earlier with some friends, but they have Alvarez bobble head night on Monday…. Should be bobble HAND night.

Walker leads the Astros with 127 plate appearances / 109 at-bats with RISP

he's batting .229 w/RISP

and only has 7 x-base hits in his 109 RISP AB's

he's leaving a ton of meat on the bone

said it the other day. For all his "great" turnaround since July 1, his wRC+ is only up to 92.

He's been getting hits but they aren't productive hits.

Really wish we could have brought him back, but I guess the final 12 out getter of the first WS doesn't have enough cache with Jimbo

Im sure Yordan's trust level is high for the medical staff. Has surgery even been mentioned as a possibility? I could swear they said it was a place where surgery was not really possible or helpful, but I could be wrong.

He was the most we could afford given current parameters.

What's worse is Cam now has Chas in the crosshairs as our worst bat. It seems like he should have had to work up to that rather than what's transpiring now.

I think Yordan problem is his grip. He's gripping so tight he's mashing his fingers together. Needs to figure out a new grip or some protection of some sort or this will keep happening. Only thing that makes sense given it's a repeat issue and surgery won't really "fix it"

Based on what we've been told, it was bad enough all offseason that he could barely swing a bat. And yet he never got it addressed. Whose fault is that? Are the Astros' medical team responsible at all times for telling him how to handle his business enough to perform his job? I think I could've chosen to get that **** looked at before the season without being forced.

I'm down to blame the Astros medical team for a lot but not for a guy spending eight months consistently taking the least productive route on whatever ailment is making his owie.

swept by Seattle midweek...and now poised to be swept by Cleveland

up 6-1 on the Rays in the 5th

On a scale of 1-10 rate your confidence in the following

1. Make the playoffs 6/10
2. win the division 4/10
3. Make the ALCS 3/10

5/10
3/10
2/10

The 19-7 record in June was an aberration. The rest of the year is the norm. This is closer to a .500 team than a championship team, as many of us expected at the beginning of the year.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

They are gonna end up being the 2025 version of what Detroit was in 2024.

And we started it. They were DOA and came in and swept us. That started their swing.

Maybe the stars will align and we win today with the mariners losing. I feel like that hasn't happened in quite a while (July 30th to be exact is the last time that's happened)

How long do you want to ignore this user?
You know what? That may not be bad, at all.

Maybe the team got a little too comfortable having some success with a AAA lineup and got a little over confident.

Maybe they need a wake-up call and have some pressure applied to their level of play. Maybe they need to play with a sense of urgency.

Or, maybe they'll wilt under the pressure. But, with Correa being back on the squad, I don't think that is going to be the case.

We could have traded Framber at the deadline and received similar performances to his last two starts by whomever replaced him in the rotation. If he doesn't return to form, winning the division is going to be a tall task.

He hasn't been the same since his post game comment about the outfield positioning a couple of weeks ago.

Chas, sanchez vs LHP, Cam in his slump, Walker hitting 4th. This is not a winning lineup. Thanks Joe, better luck next year

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Chas is at least batting 9th and coming off a double last night. Sanchez that high in the lineup is the most egregious. Is he a better defender than Hummel?

As great as Sanchez has been against RHP, he's absolutely futile against lefties. Makes no sense

Dumb. Dubon should be in the OF. Urias at 2B. We have super utility RHH. Use em, Joe.

What's weird is that Walker traditionally hits RHP better
