I dunno, it's not forgetting when every (opposing) pitcher can out-execute the batter. There's no dictating the strike zone or trying to get to their pitch...pitchers don't fear our bats, come right at us and we can't do anything about it.

I'm not watching but checked the thread. I think he's been outstanding defensively this year.
He has a -1.4 dWAR this year before tonight on baseball reference. He's within shouting distance of Altuve bad.
Since 2019 he's at 47 defensive runs saved with never a negative season in that span until this one at -6 DRS before tonight.
First season Abreu had a -.9 dWAR and -2 DRS. Walker's been worse. He's been an improvement with the glove over 2024 Singleton who had slightly worse defensive counting stats in just 88 games at 1b.

The Astros' injuries have sucked, but they are so woefully underprepared for every game/series/situation…Espada should thank God that Jimy Williams' name exists. That's the only thing that will keep him out of the basement of Astros management tenure history considering the team he inherited.
